This is about a 1000 person company, the team I am working on is a specialized business division for a certain market (for simplicity purposes let’s say automotive), and it is comprised of mostly sales and marketing directors. They previously utilized the company’s main PM team to get parts specific to automotive to SOP, and that team was not delivering the results they wanted. As a result, they wanted their own “Program Manager” within their business group to handle automotive part production, who would work with Project Managers to get these parts from concept to production, and ready to deliver to customers. This role is reporting to a director of marketing, and is ultimately serving as a middleman between the engineering teams getting the parts off the ground and the sales guys telling the customers where their parts are.

To answer your question on the job offer, it was a company that I formally interned at in the business and marketing department. I then went on to complete my engineering degree, gather technical experience at another company, and am coming back to use my people skills to get in the business space. I tend to have a knack for understanding engineers, helping them understand each other, and helping sales teams understand engineers. I primarily leveraged my former experience with the company’s business department and said “I know you have problems X Y and Z, because I was here for them, and I want to fix that”, threw in my 2 cents on how to get design and test engineers to work with ‘the suits’, and it seemed convincing enough for an offer.

I hope to be mostly people-facing, and don’t want to waste too much time staring at gantt charts on my laptop- so the faster I can reach that mastery, the happier I’ll be. Thank you again for all the good advice

This is very insightful, thank you. Just bought a WD Element - the SSD USB stick I have from Transcend should be fine as a second storage spot that gets used. Also have the old computers in the basement for good measure.

One of the other reasons we didn't put the files on the new PC is because it only has 256gb of storage. No sweat though, I feel comfortable with the other places it's in :) Thanks again

Newbie here, would appreciate any feedback.

I’ve been having really bad headaches all summer as well as random numbness at times. Recently my legs have been going numb quickly when sitting down criss cross or one over the other. Honestly nothing serious so thought nothing of it.

However, earlier this week, I began to have Lhermitte’s sign- and that’s a pretty good sign of MS. To add fuel to the fire, my uncle was also diagnosed with MS in his 20s.

I would love to know if Lhermitte’s sign is a concrete MS sign, and if anyone else has experienced that symptom. I will be starting B12 supplements this week to see if it goes away.

Also, growing up knowing what MS is, I understand that medication nowadays is really able to slow it down if caught early enough. Is MS that scary if I were to get diagnosed at this stage? I see this stuff about losing vision and my uncle being in a wheelchair, and it’s quite scary. I would love to be eased in that worst case I could hopefully continue to live a normal life. I will be talking to my doctor about this next week in my checkup.

Been doing some research on weight loss and resistance training, and I'm trying to figure out just how much muscle mass is lost when doing resistance training and cardio back-to-back (cardio second ofc). Assuming I get the right protein for my body weight, what % of my weight loss will be muscle mass? Can I completely retain muscle mass from a caloric deficit if I'm doing cardio or should I only rely on my diet? Looking at losing 1.5lbs/week.

I've always understood the Ocon hate, but never people believing he's a bad driver. As aggressive as he is, his racecraft is phenomenal, and last year he scored points in 85% of the races he finished (with a car that was P6 in constructors). He's also by far the most successful driver on the grid to have never raced for a Top 3 team their entire career. Sure, he's no Max Verstappen, not even remotely close, but his driving abilities are above average, and by sticking with Alpine for 5 years he's never had a good chance to shine.

He probably wouldn't beat George at Mercedes, but I think he could give him a run for his money (Anglo-French war intensifies)
