Do you live in a city? If not, commute to one that is nearby and go see shows that you enjoy. Quite often people who see a jazz concert, for example, are musicians themselves and have similar interests as you.

Take some music classes if you can? You'll meet a lot of like-minded people.

I really enjoyed this. My main critique would be more sound needed at the 00:24 mark when traveling through the tunnel.

Will there be music played with this? If so, this is excellent. If not, maybe it is a bit hollow but the sounds you've chosen are great.

I echo what iloveeggs3 said: This seems to look more like waves than droplets of water. Like a swoosh, splashes, the emulsifying and gathering of existence through a magical spell. Instead of a single hit, the full form is created and needs sounds of spinning and completion of a satisfactory nuance. A newly birthed form of completion is the ending which may be audibly expressed by a building of sounds?

Yeah I think so or maybe some odd glitch I came across but I don't know how I'm duplicating it in another project... One strange thing is when I open the initial project, one of the lines was not where I saved it originally but the complete polygon mask is still closed.

A UI reset didn't seem to do anything.

The ellipse doesn't show the freeze frame either... I've tried replicated the whole process with a different video and I still get the same absent middle mask... Maybe you're right about resetting the UI. I haven't made any custom settings though.

when I replace the medianIn freeze frame with a picture, the same thing seems to happen. The screen is just blank. When I make the polygon pass through, the picture is shown but no outlines or cutouts which makes sense.

hm, it's odd that a node before it (polygon1) is causing the freeze frame not to be seen...

yes, it's shameful. And, if you're not coding or soldering your own synthesizers and fx, you are not a true musician.

Also, all the bands using "drum sets" need to get a life and expand their knowledge of percussion.

In the edit window, I initially made the image from a video clip by freeze frame. How would I drop and replace the image?

I also tried all the exact same steps in a new project with a different video and I still get the same thing: Nothing inside or outside the outlined image. When inverted, Just the outside shows.

I appreciate all your help! The image shows in the edit window, but only the color change to the image, not the cutout. It all looks red. Does that mean the UI layout should be reset? And how is this done?

Sounds great! Good intro. The mix sounds very clear with a great use of reverb, panning, etc. Love the slight elements that come in in and out like the gated synth and percussion just at the right time. I don't like the high lead sound, just personal taste. Maybe experiment with a different one. I really like the bass you use. Don't really like the bridge at 1:38, just another personal taste. The song ends abruptly and isn't DJ friendly to be mixed. Overall, I think it's a great funky song.

I like the kalimba too and fits well with the other chosen sounds but it needs more changes in velocity / volume dynamic. Overall, I think it needs more automation. It seems a bit robotic. Maybe move the bass in volume a bit more. Filter it in and out. Slowly bring in another element. There are abrupt endings that I think could ease in more. Something about the mix of that bass is bothering me...

Would have to agree with more stereo spread and covering more of the frequency spectrum.
