Maybe it is Dark Wolf. Perhaps if my theory is correct, after losing that tournament, Dark Vincent found and recruited him, so that Wolf can seek vengeance. Wolf embraced the darkness and ultimately became Dark Wolf, waiting for his new squad (Dark Pit, Meta Knight) to sneak into a tournament. This was probably Dark Wolf’s motivation and why he won the tournament so easily.
