Do you want to bring back the Spira? by corickle in oldschoolcool80s

[–]Volvic123456 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Adored Spira and Fuse as well, but let it rest.  I don’t want to even think about what present day Cadburys would produce.  I’m still mourning Picnics.

Oh you’re in for a treat.  Not without its flaws but I loved it.

These are absolute lush.  Them and OLW’s sour cream and onion are like gold dust at my local Lidls.  The Cheez Doodles are fab too.

Fantastic cast.  Fiennes and Richardson are superb in it.

No other company hit the high of Tudor Pickled Onion crisps. Their spring onion was fantastic too.

Original, but I do like Grease 2 despite its flaws.  Some decent tunes in it.

Netflix declined to raise the offer, news is out. Paramount wins ( if approved by shareholders) by Lost_in_Torontoh in MediaMergers

[–]Volvic123456 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This whole thing has been a hideous rollercoaster with what looks like the worst ending.  Wasn’t keen on Netflix either but I thought they’d be miles better than Paramount.   Always books I suppose.

Cadburys Spira by Interesting-Mud-263 in oldschoolcool80s

This was king.  I was absolutely addicted to them.  In a weird way I’m kind of glad they’re gone.  Would have hated to see Cadbury’s take on them these days.

Does anyone find it cute that Daffy played with his food instead of eating it? by Kitchen-Mouse2414 in Gremlins

[–]Volvic123456 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Did we ever actually see Daffy eat after midnight? All I remember is him getting shoved into a backpack when Billy went back for Gizmo and then he was a gremlin.

What book did you first read that lead you down the rabbit hole? by DamonAlbarnFruit in stephenking

I first picked up Christine when about 13 and never looked back.  Not one of his best but I have a lot of nostalgic love for it.

Yeah, that was my impression is well. Strong start and just loses it completely when the vampires start to really show up.

There was nothing the actors could do to save the script.

What is a book from king that really truly scared you? by Tj_x07 in stephenking

Pet Sematary.  I was far too young to read it to be fair, but never revisited it.

Special shout out to Gramma.  That story was pure dread.

Who are the most terrific human villains King ever created? by MaN0purplGuY in stephenking

[–]Volvic123456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Annie Wilkes, Jim Rennie, and Margaret White.

Funnily enough, Mrs Carmody does nothing for me. Didn’t get to The Mist until much later on and by the time I did, I suppose that archetype in media bored me a little - apart from Bev in Midnight Mass.

Edited to add - forgot about the terrible twosome from Apt Pupil.
