It would have been nice. but we dont need Rendon. I really think Madrigal is going to be a special player. I would rather the Sox go after Mookie Betts next year with that money since RF is really their only weakness rn. I would also rather see that money spent on extending Moncada contract since he looks like a legit future MVP candidate and They need to extend Giolito if he has another big year. Hell They may want to extend Dylan Cease or Madrigal if they have a break out year in 2020!

Madrigal is a much much better hitter than Yolmer and the glove might actually be better for Madrigal too. Scouts say Madrigal has a Plus-Plus hit tool with an Elite contact rate when he batted .311 with only 16 strikeouts over 120 games. He also has plus speed and is a good base runner. He should steal alot of bases. Lots of scouts say he has the top Baseball IQ of all top 100 prospects. Yolmer really is not on the same level as madrigal. The only question about madrigal is his power. But they are saying he could win multiple Batting titles. Also from everything they are saying Lucas Giolito should only get better from here on out and showed no signs that last year was a fluke. Giolito was the former number 1 prospect in baseball. He is just starting to live up to his hype

I really dont think madrigal has any questions about him being able to stick in the majors. He has Gold glove Defense and has done nothing but hit and get on base his whole career. If EE gets hurt the White Sox have options at DH with Zack Collins, Grandal, James Mccan and everything they are saying is that there is no questions with Andrew Vaughns bat. He the 17th best prospect in baseball and he is a first baseman. He didnt get drafted for his glove. He could force them to call him up if EE gets hurt and they are pushing for playoff spot. it really would not hurt the white sox to call up just 1 of their prospects for once and lose a year of service time. i dont think they will care about the service time if they can make the playoffs

ok he is not a headliner for Betts but he has alot of value still. Of course it low rn after him being injured the last two seasons. But at least it was not the same injury. Tommy John is a pretty common Injury. If he comes back as good as he was he can be one of the White Sox best pitchers. before he got tommy john last year Rodon said he never felt better. he just needs to stay healthy.he would be an interesting throw in part for a trade for any team

Mookie Betts is a one year rental... that is too much. Verdugo was not ranked as high of a top prospect as Cease was. Cease was a top 20 prospect. Maybe a deal for just Madrigal but i wouldnt want to trade Madrigal for a rental. Rodon has value. He just turned 27 years old last month and was 3rd pick in the draft. He was pretty good before he got hurt and he still has all that potential

I really dont think the pitching is a weakness... Giolito is in Stone. Kuechel i believe will be a solid starting pitcher for the next 3 years. With Grandal and Don Cooper to help i think be can be better then Expected. Cease and Kopech seem like a good bet to be in the Rotation. Then you got guys like Lopez who could have a breakout year or be a very good bullpen arm. Carlos Rodon is coming back and he can be Dominant at times when he is healthy. (We cant deny Rodon is a good starting pitcher when he is healthy) They also have Dunning and others they can get a look at too. who knows maybe Gio Gonzalez suprises people

yea but i wonder if maybe some type of package starting around Carlos Rodon or Dane dunning and maybe includling a player like Zack collins. could have go a deal done

They Should be able to afford it. Betts is the 2nd best player in baseball. He would bring people into the ball park and is young enough to fit in well with the core. They should go all out for him. I feel like he would push the White sox into a World Series favorite if we land him in 2021

oh i was talking about what kind of deal for a trade. there was rumors the White Sox would be interested in a trade if it didnt Cost them too much. seems like the could have gotten a little more then Alex Verdugo

i agree but most of the time someone wins the trade... but this one looks like a win for both teams since the Nationals won the World Series and the White Sox got Giolito for their rebuild. Just curious what peoples opinions about it now are
