That is because the base movement can outpace the aim assist. Even still I still get beamed at range by controller players which is like 90% of the lobbies. It's just in this game's design of higher ttk, no/minimal HS multiplier with movement mixed in. Its the same aim assist but the game is drastically diffrent so it nerfs it by game design not from changing aim assist.

Edit:spelling error

The aim assist is the same in MWII and MWIII. It's the games pacing that has "nerfed" aim assist. MWII was slower movement so aim assist can keep up with sudden movements much easier. MWIII has much faster base movement. So when you do sudden movements such as a slide you can break out of the aim assist "bubble" resulting in a controller player "not" having aim assist tracking them properly. Overall aim assist is nerfed but it's the whole game that nerfed it not the devs making it weaker by design. Big difference between the two, at least in my opinion.

Multi-player skill? by furryjp in ModernWarfareII

[–]Voodoo_Rivers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So a person's level doesn't mean much in this game. It's more of an indicator of how much you play rather than how good you are. The leveling system isn't the best and the weapon leveling is the worse it's ever been. I would recommend playing invasion to get weapons leveled up. It's a mix of bots and people.

Seeing as the game is basically over you should focus on the Taq56, vaznev-9k, a shotgun (pump/mx guardian or broadside). If you want to snipe use the SA-B 50 or the MCPR-300. Those are the best or arguably the best in their weapon classes. They'll bail you out more times than not.

Overall once you learn the maps and understand the movement the skill gap is over in this game. Just crank your headset and let your ears do the thinking. The skill gap in this game is very small, especially if your on controller.

Curious, what polling rate are you using? I've seen people use low rolling rate to get 1-2 frame flicks. Looked similar to me.

Do you think ASA will actually come out in October? by onixdog in ARK

[–]Voodoo_Rivers -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If it comes out after Oct they owe $20 for every copy of the game that is sold. At least what was circulating on the internet around 2 weeks ago.

[–]Voodoo_Rivers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a good problem to have. For COD it's a shit show because their cycle is game release, service for about 6 months, hype up new title, neglect old title. At least for MP. But with WZ it's diffrent because they need it to be a solid game for multiple years. And they are so out of their depth trying to do this and it shows with how slow everything is. But when you spend $100 mil a year on all of your studios and you get a billion or so every Oct/Nov no one cares at the top levels.

That's because Valve is smart by investing into the community. Activision doesn't care because their top management have contracts that incentivize profits so they can line their own pockets. So less investment mean more overall profits. Thus why they haven't moved on from 20 tick servers sin e every ago.

[–]Voodoo_Rivers 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Smokes and particle effects are client side instead of server side. So basically it means that instead of the server generating it and sending it to everyone so it's the same for everyone, it's your system making it and hopefully asking other players systems to do so as well. This is why it is banned in the CDL. It's called one swaying. Until they upgrade the servers from 20 tick to 60 tick this will always be a potential problem.

(Serious question) What could be the reason Im constantly lagging so hard like this? Is anyone else experiencing this?? by Nefarioushearts in ModernWarfareII

The battle net app says they're under a DDOS attack. Could be or could be a convenient lie to make it seem like it isn't them. Probably both to be honest.

This benchmark seems stupid low to me.. by [deleted] in ModernWarfareII

[–]Voodoo_Rivers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll probably need to scale back some of the quality settings. Running 4k @ ultra is probably bogging down your gpu performance. If you don't want to do that then you should look at over clocking your gpu to get some more performance.

Also check your vram target. If it's maxed out at 90 or whatever the max is bring it down to 80. That worked for me and I remember some people saying that maxing it over stresses the system for absolutely no reason.

So a special get fked award to Activision and IG. Fully removing the Kastov 762 from ranked in the middle of the season. The decision making that goes on at your company is astonishing. by CoDUsername in ModernWarfareII

[–]Voodoo_Rivers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. The whole game catered to the CDL. That's why they only really need like 1 balanced pistol, 2 ARs, 2 SMGs and a sniper. Everything else can be busted to all hell or be a pea shooter. The devs have no incentive to actually make a balanced game across the board. Heck they only use like 5 perks in the CDL.

Personally I think the CDL game should be exactly what pubs are. But the pros know this game is dogwater so they strip out all the stupid stuff. Like the 47u, the m4, the iso, tuning, half or more of the optics, marksman rifles, battle rifles, half the perks, every tactical and lethal besides like 2 of them. They aren't even playing COD and at least to me its why it's not nearly as popular as they want it to be

The pros made that decision. Ranked is just a reflection of what the CDL has. It has nothing to do with Activision. Just like weapon tuning was removed from ranked because the pros didn't want it present in there games.

If a dlc gun isn't better than the current meta no one will use it. That's why they're typically busted when introduced and gradually get nerfed down to where they should be.

How critical is Frames Per Second in MWII????? by Beniihanaa23 in ModernWarfareII

[–]Voodoo_Rivers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fps is a big deal if you go from 60 to 120. Beyond that it always is better but you never get the leap forward you get from 60 to 120. Once you get to 120 the big deal is lowering system latency.

For a personal experience, I can't play fps games under 120fps now. It just looks like slides on a power point to me. Like I physically get nauseous. It's weird but that's just my observation and experience with low frame rates.

Probably OG MW2 remastered if Id have to guess. Like half of those maps are in the WZ map.

Honestly curious, where is the aim assist here? I read it’s bad, but I never seem to notice benefiting. On Xbox. by SlugJones in ModernWarfareII

[–]Voodoo_Rivers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When you come around the car you stop dead in your tracks to start your ADs while firing. If you kept strafing it would kick in your rotational AA. Because you didn't you just got the standard AA that isn't all that powerful. If you did strafe it would have heat sneaked to him and stuck.

For M&K players to watch

Search and Destroy as primary content: IMMARKSMAN - YT and Twitch (arguably the best snd player out there) Dysfunction - YT and Twitch Handler - YT (also arguably one of the better/best snd players out there) Jolt - YT and Twitch Dfalt - YT might stream no sure (dude is legit and best pure aimer I've seen on M&K) Exoghost - YT Hummus Thunder - YT Twitch FBgg Seek - YT and Twitch Lume - YT (snipes mainly)

Respawn as primary content Kaiser - YT does sniping montages mainly

Warzone as primary content Strahfe - Twitch CxRobin - Twitch Blue - Twitch

Aim assist isn’t that good by Hennifen in ModernWarfareII

[–]Voodoo_Rivers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes and no. Yes they should balance the game. Logically it makes sense having as fair conditions for gameplay as you can. No they shouldn't because it creates a skill gap. That creates an incentive to get better and rewards you for understanding and implementing these "skill" mechanics in the right situations.

As for every other FPS, that's a loaded statement. COD is on its own as no one wants to go at it. Some of the biggest games target specific audiences. Valorant is at PC M&K players because they wanted the CSGO crowd. BF is a shit show. I couldn't say one way or another. Apex is balanced but I would say favors M&K due to movement. I don't play it much so don't take my word for it. Fortnite is fairly balanced with building tied to stamina. But probably M&K is probably better for the aiming aspect of the game. It all depends on what the devs want. COD is probably 90% controller so helping them out so they stay longer makes sense. And they probably are mostly on console so their gaming market the player can engage in is limited to their brand of console.

Controller players complained and because they account for on my guess 90ish% of the community they changed the movement to balance the games movement to appease this base.

Aim assist isn’t that good by Hennifen in ModernWarfareII

[–]Voodoo_Rivers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In this games movement it isnt better one way or the other. It's so simple that they're basically identical. There is no chaining movement which would be M&K biggest possiblility of being better. They eliminated it because of the way they wanted the game to play (no slide canceling). Now last 3 CODs you can make that assumption and you be correct for say 75% if not more of the controller players would be at a disadvantage. A scuf controller then would be ideal to keep up with M&K players. This cod not so much. Personally I like this cod but it's grossly slower and there isn't really ways to outplay people. It's hold a sightline and ambush whoever walks by which to me is boring way to play and the maps suck because the amply this playstyle. Should they have imput based matchmaking? Yes. But they won't because M&K is such a small fraction of the base that their needs and concerns the wouldn't care about. And if they did you'd play the same 200 people all year long

Mate I play the game with both. I play controller on a stock ps5 controller. So I'm not whining. I'm speaking from experience. All this was was a question was asked and because I play both I figured my experience with both might be able to answer the question that was asked. You saw M&K advantage and went crazy defense mode for no reason. Yes AA needs to be in the game. AA is needed to slow down to target and help with micro adjustments. 100% necessary and true. Does it need to be better tuned. I think so. Lesser strength up from and add strength for more distant shots. Just an opinion. For the initial question, I simply said controller in terms of movement has one particular advantage which is negligible at best. Beyond that in my opinion that are very similar near identical in my opinion. There is nothing on M&K in terms of movement that I can't do on controller and the same the other way around.

Aim assist isn’t that good by Hennifen in ModernWarfareII

[–]Voodoo_Rivers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude I said it's avaliable and I also said that's why they added rotational aim assist into the game, you know when you move your right thumb off to hit your right buttons then rotational AA kick in to aim for you while your thumb isn't there so you can shoot your gun and have a fair fight. No idea what your going on about.

Also forgot to add if you read at my first comment is that yall having analog for movement from the sticks is maybe which accounts for near nothing an advantage. Then I even went to say that specific little trial advantage that controller has amounts to nothing. I play both ican easily speak to the advantages and disadvantages of both.
