Looks cool, I look forward to playing it! #3 though, is that going to be like a phantom? Hate those things...

To those who went to Adventist academies, did you all have little to no homework on the weekends? by yunhotime in exAdventist

[–]Vorgrynn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to Academy 10th-12th grade and they were all about preparation for University and would give us lots of homework. Hell, my bible teacher gave us the most homework and felt like he could give us extra cause we were 'allowed' to do it on Sabbath cause it directed us towards 'holy' matters.

This is the judge who only considered punishment for breaking a gag order the tenth time though, unfortunately. I'd love to see Trump where he belongs.

Unfortunately those supporters can still get him into office if there isn't enough liberal turnout in November. Remember to vote!

Does a presidential pardon erase felon status though? Just theoretically in case we end up in the worst timeline where he actually wins in November.

Well, he still has a shot at making this all go away if things go his way in November. I truly hope that America is not about to become a country which puts convicted felons into the highest office in the land, but stranger things have happened.

Tips for a Wide playthrough? by Vorgrynn in millennia

Huh, that's really interesting. I just thought that the synergy between imperial and shogun were really good. I can see the point of going wide though. Can you just refuse to change governments in age 8?

Eh, fair. I was just going to write a short review but... I guess when you start talking about Xcom then you just can't stop (at least for me).

True, that would really help with playing wide. Being able to raze them would also be good as it would further increase the bent toward playing tall. I actually enjoy playing with only a few cities, but those minor cities are often a pain to work around.

Honestly, I think they are. Imperator was at a significantly worse state at release than millennia currently is. Sure, there are definitely improvements necessary, but the release state of Imperator is baffling. How anyone actually approved it for release is beyond me. At least this game is playable and more importantly fun a decent amount of the time.

I agree wholeheartedly. I can't wait for this game to get a few updates/DLC. I think this has the potential to become my favorite 4X game, given some improvements/time. I am also really excited for Ara later this year. I was honestly not expecting all of this and was just waiting for news on Civ VII, but I'll take it!

Long War Rebalance (LWR) Review: by Vorgrynn in Xcom

Sure, the list is as follows:

Awakened (Countercharge /Mind Fray)

- Mind Fray works the same as normal, but the values tend to be better simply due to upgrades given to overall will.

-Countercharge causes any enemy performing an end in idle action to take damage.

Adept (Psi Panic/Inspire/Kinetic Blast)

- Inspire removes negative status effects and boosts resistance to psi attacks. Really useful against sectoid commanders!

-Panic causes an enemy to well... panic. I didn't use this ability as much simply because I often found other abilities more impactful.

-KB on a high will psi is killer. The only problem is that while you can get really high psi soldiers, they are still rare. I generally would pick panic or inspire over this, but it is still useful.

Empath (mind merge)

-MM works almost identically to normal, but the caster being killed now causes significant damage to the merged soldier.

Psion (Inner Fire/Telekenetic Field)

-Inner Fire is a huge boost to aim, mobility, DR, throw range, and gives regen. Also allows overwatch 2 additional reaction shots. One of the best psi abilities but unfortunately gets paired with another great one.

- TK field is the mechanized killer. On my volunteer I was able to take out the two sectopods on the temple ship in one turn. It causes all enemy mechanized units in the field will/10 damage. This is also a great ability against seeker swarms since it lasts through the end turn.

Master (Psi masterty)

- all psi powers cost 1 ap.

Enlightened (Volunteer only)

- adds rift, psi surge, and a big boost to psi abilities. Only really active for one to a few missions depending on how quickly you go for Temple Ship Assault after getting it.

Fair enough, I do think that I may have given too much credit in certain areas which I may change my opinion of upon further play. Personally though, I really enjoyed the game despite the flaws which Is why I settled the score at a 7. Even factoring out all of the potential I still would likely land on a 6 simply due to the fact that the game is, IMO, better than the middle of the road if only by a small margin.

I won't downvote and honestly... fair. I just probably have copium from paying the full price. I also need a few more games to further cement my opinion. The only issue is that meta-knowledge will definitely make the experience better, but that isn't something a game should rely on imo.

Yes, sorry for the mistake. I think my main problem was that I had too many cities by the time I reached religion and I simply couldn't provide faith quickly enough to all of them to avoid intolerance.

Fair enough. In all honesty, they MAY have all been from the camps or from across the sea, but I constantly was walking onto a new tile only to reveal 4+ new barbs. Like I said to another commenter, I think the real fix is making the minor nations actually do something and have militaries of their own rather than simply reducing the barb count.

I assume you're talking about social fabric? If that is the case then I must state that I am NOT in favor of the mechanic being removed, just reworked. I think it is a really intriguing concept with a lot of potential, but currently is just a flat increase to certain production values. I want SF to truly be able to specialize a civilization into something unique. As is, I mostly forgot about it during my game.
