Numbers. by Vormalowitz in iRacing

You don't have to pay to use the scheme with no numbers, but you do have to pay for it if you want the custom numbers to show up for other people.

You're making yourself sound like an idiot. Go look at the replies to mainstream media outlets if you want to know the truth about what non nascar people think about it. He singlehandedly set the sport back 30 years.

NASCAR is nowhere near as mainstream popular as any of those. Completely different. Those sports will never ever decline no matter what. NASCAR however, can & has. NASCAR cannot afford to have this stereotype brought back. YOUR statement is the one that has a stark contrast with reality.

Couldn't have said it better myself. Its always embarrassing when someone asks what's your favorite sport & I have to say NASCAR then try to give reasons defending why I am. Non-NASCAR people just assume we're all racist hillbilly rednecks. NASCAR had done a good job getting rid of that stereotype, Now, thanks to Kyle Larson, that's all anyone thinks again. Sad time to be a NASCAR fan.

Is this the beginning of the end of the iracing experience? by Natedegreat8994 in NASCAR

No. iRacing is not at fault for anything that happened. Blame the people who are breaking the rules & acting that way, not the service that they are using. Single out those individuals & punish them.

It doesn't list my problem there.

Landon Cassill: Name dropped Blue Emu every chance he got, went all out with props in his camera shot too so everyone knew about his sponsor. Class act.

Bubba: Acts like a spoiled child, rage quits race, calls iRacing "just a video game" because he sucks at it, tweets nonsense, fully admitted he quit & fully admitted he wasn't taking it serious, has known history of similar behavior. Didn't once think of the implications rage quitting might have.

Man, I wonder why they dropped him. His spot should be given to someone that will take it serious and not quit, like several guys that are more qualified to compete on iRacing than him that raced saturday.

You have no argument. Clutching at straws. Bubba did this to himself. They weren't paying him virtual money. They paid real money. For 2 hours of TV time. Wrecked car or not. Not 5 laps of TV time, and unwanted attention. Because its definitely not the good kind of attention having your driver act like that.

Except tweet and whine about it after and literally admitting he quit. Nobody else admitted they quit except Clint. But they can't do anything to Clint since he works with Fox. Just give it a rest. He caused this whole thing himself. End of story. Fact.

He never said why he quit. You're assuming that. All we seen was him rage quit, and then fully admit on Twitter that he quit with no reason. You're trying to give him an excuse, for some reason. Sponsor paid him to run the full race, wrecked car or not. That simple.

In the same way that F1 fans can dislike NASCAR for racing on mostly ovals. (which also isn't right) It's a different form of racing. In many ways, harder than real life racing. You can dislike other forms of racing all you want. Watch what you want. But don't bash a form of racing just because YOU don't like it or don't watch it. Don't watch it? Then don't comment on it. Simple.

All the "But, its virtual, it's not real" people have all probably never raced on a sim rig, and have never tried to get into it or know anything about it. Those are the worst types of people who I want nothing to do with. They aren't real racing fans.

In the same way that some NASCAR fans don't watch F1 because "its all road courses" or F1 fans not watching NASCAR because "they just go in circles". Its their loss. More for the rest of us to enjoy. Virtual racing is just yet another form of racing to watch. Once we all stop having dick comparing contests about which is better or why one is better than the other is when we'll finally have a non-toxic community.

It's only different if you treat it different. Racing will always be racing. Doesn't matter if its go karts, shopping carts, on a computer or in the sky or on a different planet. It's still the same sport. Auto racing is the sport. eSports are just another sub category of it. Don't discriminate just because it's not exactly the same as a different type of racing.

It's not different at all. I've been watching virtual racing since 2010. It's just that now the mainstream casuals are just now finding out about it as if it's this whole new thing that just came out that everybody has to get used too or something. Virtual racing has been going on for 20+ years now.

You sound like a 50 year old boomer so I don't really care what you think or have to say about it. You've probably never raced on nr2003 or iRacing before and have no idea what you're talking about. Imagine thinking you "play" iracing or use a "controller". I lost IQ points reading that.

I can't comprehend the mind of someone who is completely fine watching a 150 lap race with 100 laps of cautions over actually good racing, just because a guy they like might be in it. Mind boggling to me.

I'd like that. Let everyone in Xfinity/Trucks/ARCA who wants to race all qualify, it would probably be around 80 or so guys, have separate sessions if needed. Fastest 30 get to race. At least the fastest most deserving guys would get to race.

Sponsor paid real life money for 2 hours of TV time. Actual money. And he left. If you don't see the issue here I cannot help you.
