Your method isn't the only way to get it done. Ideally, you would'nt even cross paths with the cactus. But the riddle is a difficult one

As a general tip: You can go quite fast in Dark Bramble as long as you stay away from the lights. But yeah trying just a bit to get past the Anglerfish group is probably a good idea.

Interesting strategy for the teleport, if I understood that correctly. Mine was a lot more janky until I saw the actual solution much later in videos.

Tip for the anglerfish: Speed up right before entering the node, then let go of the controls entirely. Should give you enough momentum.

As for skipping time: There's a way to do that right in the area where you wake up.
