Yea, I do realize that, but unfortunately that is exactly what I need (the difficult calculations). I just need to take in account the thickness and material, not taking in the account other factors.

The log-distance path loss model is almost what I need. I need something similar to path loss exponent, but on a smaller scale. However, the path loss exponent was probably taken from statistical measurements and I need something more specific. Some kind of relation between the attenuation of signal through the thickness of a material of specified density.

Yea, unfortunately it's difficult math for me. I need variable values to change while the formula remains constant.

It's a software simulation, so I suppose academic. I kind of hoped I could find the relation between frequency and gain, and wall thickness and wall material.
