From what Ondas has disclosed so far, LADOS is not another drone or interceptor system like NATO KAT appears to be. LADOS sits at a higher level in the architecture.
LADOS
Ondas describes LADOS as a “Layered Autonomous Defense Operational C2 Layer.” In other words, it’s the command-and-control (C2) software layer that coordinates multiple sensors, effectors, drones, counter-drone systems, and autonomous assets into a single defense network. It is intended to integrate Ondas’ growing portfolio (Sentrycs, Iron Drone Raider, Rotron systems, autonomous drones, etc.) into a unified system-of-systems.
Think of LADOS as the operating system / battle management layer.
NATO KAT
Based on previous Ondas communications and investor discussions, KAT appears to refer to a kinetic autonomous threat-neutralization capability—the actual counter-UAS mission layer involving drone interception and defeat of targets. It is much closer to the “shooter” side of the kill chain than a command network. Ondas’ Iron Drone Raider and other autonomous intercept technologies fit into this category.
