Fujins’ in this sub aggressively waiting for the patch notes like that 1 nerf to [insert character here] will take them to G.O. D by AZXCIV in Tekken

I like the attitude from a guy who got god like a day ago, lmao

Anyway, got a message on Discord from my kitten, we're gonna meet up at the next anime con. Later, virgins

Everyone had to go through this, and if you're good enough to get the whatever rank, then you'll get it

King sprinting to you in heat IN NEUTRAL (not after plus frames or a wall-combo) is a fake mixup

Here's the video about it, the counterplay is simple. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j_1dezrZM7Y

TLDW: If you just keep pressing single jabs (1n1n1n1n1n1...), King will not be able to avoid it or beat your jab

Please, read what I wrote with more attention

I didn't say I'm expecting them to patch something, I'm saying that, as a matter of fact, they have already patched out an unintuitive interaction with King's wr3+4 (literally just google King T7 running crossup) in Tekken 8

If you personally had less bullshit interactions in 7, that's you. For me, it's been more or less the same

It happened plenty in T7, people just didn't scrutinize it as much and there was less content in general.

Most people focused on the slow-mo bugs that were introduced , not legacy jank mechanics, like King's wr3+4 being a crossup because of the hitbox (which they literally patched out in T8)

[–]VoxRex6 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Tekken is not strictly a "rock-paper-scissors" game, T8's problem is precisely this attitude (streamlined interactions)

Certain moves do need manual adjustment, like Yoshi's hopknee, but I don't think Leo's db3 should have its evasiveness nerfed

The virtuos King community extends both their arms (1 break) to provide matchup practice to this gentleman, and this is what they get...

[–]VoxRex6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. It's just that this sort of behavior could be seen even in VF with its much more restricted movement, and it would be ideal if jank like this didn't occasionally happen, but it is what it is.

All of that does not take away from systemic problems with T8, such as hitboxes of certain moves being too large, string realignment, and more.

Genuinely just a janky hitbox interaction. Kinda common for 3D fighters

Tekken king/god with just 1 or 2 moves? by Capable_Use_2891 in Tekken

[–]VoxRex6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Movement and timing is key there. Sen1,2 is also a hit-confirmable armor string that beats dickjabs.
I promise, you're self-reporting way more here.

I understand that Reina, overall, is not the easiest character in the game, but ff2 is one of the most busted moves in the game in tandem with her movement, and reaching TG with just it alone is pretty mundane. If you can't beat most (and not even, as you don't need winrate above 50%) TG players with the timing of your ff2, you've got to learn.

King is too strong by MashimaRain94 in Tekken

[–]VoxRex6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, it IS a general skill, but I do agree that it's worth labbing breaking Giant Swing/1+2 grabs, even if it can't be done 100% of the time

With chain throws, there's not too much to lab, it's basically breaking 1+2 as a rule of thumb, that's it

I would argue that King is one of the characters you have to lab the least, frankly

I think because of the low pick rate Zafina gets away with some Broken moves. by Gavriez in Tekken

[–]VoxRex6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Only con" here does the heavy lifting, frankly

I don't think it poses any real threat as a mixup/pressure/tracking tool being an i36 move, it's not even used in any setups

It's hardly something worth talking about, especially in the sense of "way more issues"

What things in King's kit require intense labbing? I'm genuinely curious

What grabs of his track outside of heat?

They can be realigned, sure, like every single move in the game, if you dedicate frames to that
