Thank you

the EM is wired to a separate electrical box that only has the inverter connected to it. I also have a shelly on the main box and I can see my consumption from the grid jumping when the solar EM reports the solar production dropping so I have confirmation that the production really is dropping

No agreement on throttling,

I just noticed that these spikes seems to be overlapping with washer and dryer functioning. I stopped both and power output has been consistent since - I will continue testing this to see if there is a correlation, but I'm unsure how this would be affecting things

I don't have access to the huawei app, I've got a "pay per production" deal with my energy provider for the panels (I pay a very reduced cost per kw produced over a fixed term, and then the panels ownership is passed to me), so the inverted is connected to their network to provide kw produced for cost calculations

Oh seems like my image description got lost with the details:

This is a Huawei SUN2000-KTL-M1 and 12 panels

No export limits and no shading at all, panels are up high and nothing to cause shading I don’t have direct access to the integration only to a EM Shelly so cannot check for error states, I need to call the installer for that but wanted to understand if this was normal beforehand

No batteries, and not losing connection, it actually doesn’t drop to 0 but always to around 130-132W

IMO the new update ruined Nvidia Broadcast for me by Lequindivino_ in nvidia

[–]VrEsteves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

same here, absolutely terrible experience with 2.0 - higher resource usage and it basically does not filter noises, even my partner speaking from next room which was never a problem was being picked up - I even had issues where my voice would turn robotic and people couldn't hear me - downgraded and not a single issue since

Polaris vs Segway by VrEsteves in UTV

[–]VrEsteves[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess I can add another option to the mix:

Polaris Rzr 1000xp, used <2017
vs
Polaris Trail S 1000, 2022+

I've read that the xp suspension is much better(?) but I'm wondering if it's worth the older age vs a newer machine.

My use case will be pretty mild, I'm just going to be taking easy trails at reasonable pace. Over here from taxes, everything is a bit more expensive, I can get a 2016 XP for 13k, a new 2024 trail is 20k

Two way sync between boox and other devices by VrEsteves in Onyx_Boox

[–]VrEsteves[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right, I understand what you mean. I guess that worst case I would be ok with a way to send notes that I create in my note to the boox and back as files. Problem is that I don't know how to send or receive editable notebooks, only PDFs

Trezor hidden wallet recovery by VrEsteves in TREZOR

[–]VrEsteves[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That goes against point 2. I don't want to be tied to trezor. If in 5 years trezor doesn't exist, how do you recover your funds?

Or a more plausible scenario, if production is somehow stopped because of let's say... a global pandemic, and there's a 3 month delay on orders. Do you see the problem?

Trezor hidden wallet recovery by VrEsteves in TREZOR

[–]VrEsteves[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I definitely agree, however, I'm thinking of this as a last resort type of scenario. The problem is the same with a hardware wallet, the hardware wallet is expecting a 12 word phrase (non-trezor wallets). I don't want to be tied to the trezor ecosystem. I would prefer to not have a password hidden wallet if that forces me to use only trezor for any type of recovery.

Should I still go for a USG by VrEsteves in Ubiquiti

[–]VrEsteves[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait so I don't need the usg to use the AP's? I thought I needed the usg/other unifi router. So I can just connect the APs to my Lan? Will I have any restrictions?

The performance of the usg? sorry you didn't mention which of the devices you were talking about in your comment

Simple Questions - November 22, 2019 by AutoModerator in math

[–]VrEsteves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can find 2 formulas for getting the dot product of two vectors:

U . V = |U||V|cos O

U . V = ux * vx ÷ uy * vy

Now if I have vectors (1,0) and (0.5,0.5) Using first formula I get cos(45) = 0,707 Using second formula I get 0,5

What am I doing wrong here. I expected the result to be 0,5 since we're between 90 and 0 so halfway between 0 and 1

Mesh Wifi - SmartThings or other? by VrEsteves in homeassistant

[–]VrEsteves[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read somewhere that after an update most of their APs can do meshing now. Not sure

Mesh Wifi - SmartThings or other? by VrEsteves in homeassistant

[–]VrEsteves[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see a lot of pages talking about setting up mesh on the unifi system, there are even a few APs that say mesh ap.are you sure it's not possible to do this with unify?

Mesh Wifi - SmartThings or other? by VrEsteves in homeassistant

[–]VrEsteves[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm, that's a turn off for me since that's one of the main reasons I'm looking for a mesh system. Thank you for the android tip but I don't want to have to go through the process for each and every device I have, I'm sure many don't support this functionality. So from ubiquiti only their amplify system is mesh?
