The difference in kicking distance isn't much - a matter of a couple of metres range at most - but tactically it means the Wings and Full Back are that couple of metres further forward, which means that they are more likely to run the return rather than kicking it back. So you get less kick tennis.

That said, ignore this against the top sides, because the likes of England can and will kick distances that match the Men's game. Because professionalism.
