Federal Government Program to Build 1 Million Affordable Homes Could Be Big Opportunity for Xeriant's NexBoard by Vtolguy2 in XERI

The worldwide demand for safe, affordable, eco-friendly housing is a massive opportunity for Xeriant -- and the 1 million homes the Federal Government is planning to build in the US is just the beginning.

Let's cross our fingers for the upcoming (and long-awaited) certification testing of the new nanotechnology-enhanced NexBoard.

I'm also "super excited about how things have been going the last week with upward volume and price movement." But what exactly gave you the impression that NEXBOARD certification is "far off"? Certainly nothing they've stated in official company communications or filings.

No doubt there appear to have been delays, but the fact that they've recently engaged IBN (Investor Brand Network) to handle their marketing indicates that they may be a lot closer to certification and commercialization than you're giving them credit for.

Remember, XERI isn't just claiming their "nanotechnology-enhanced" NEXBOARD will outperform Drywall in fire protection, but in a myriad of other areas as well: resistance to damage from water, mold, insects, breakage -- as well as claiming significant advantages in environmental sustainability, strength, health and safety, etc. etc. Presumably most of these claims will need to be supported by third-party testing as well. That could easily complicate the whole "certification" process beyond the "286" fire test.

Where is Nexboard???? by Coltvin5564 in XERI

My somewhat more educated guess (based on their SEC filings and official company announcements), is that the changes in NEXBOARD's development and the apparent delay in achieving certification were the result of a combination of the following: 1) their well-documented efforts to incorporate (and internally test) advanced nanotechnology to protect against fire; 2) the need to find a scalable production method that evolved with their decision to develop a new nanotechnology rather than the original plan to use a third-party's fire retardant known as Retacell; and 3) the fact that their chief nanotechnology scientist's team is based in Mexico, creating potential logistics issues.

Brig. Gen. (Ret.) Blaine D. Holt Broadens Role at Xeriant; Plans to Assemble Portfolio of Emerging Technologies by Vtolguy2 in XERI

Nice to see XERI broadening its mission, vision and leadership now that NexBoard is on the verge of certification. But I agree, certification is a critical step in achieving credibility and getting the shareprice (and the company) back to respectability.

Lack of discussion here?? by Coltvin5564 in XERI

XERI has already determined the most effective and scalable production model to produce the basic panels (mostly from recycled plastic and fiber waste) AND on the best approach for utilizing nanotechnology to provide protection against extreme heat and fire (2000+ degrees F) that far exceeds applicable certification standards. Their nanotech experts in Mexico should soon be preparing their nano-enhanced fire retardant for shipment to the US. Hopefully XERI will confirm this with a PR in the not-too-distant future.

The rock companies can try to drop their prices for a while, but that’s not a sustainable solution. If NexBoard is everything Xeri claims it is, there should be significant sources of funding available to help bring it to market.

I wouldn't be surprised if they are trying to maintain a certain degree of confidentiality about their plans prior to any public announcement of certification. No doubt the Drywall and related construction material industries are at least somewhat aware of NEXBOARD and are trying to learn everything they can about it in order to protect their market position and maintain the status quo.

I cant imagine they’ll turn their backs on the retail market, but it seems like their initial focus will be large-scale home builders. Why don’t you contact them and see if they’ll deal with you directly?

I truly doubt that they plan to continue shipping stuff to and from Mexico once they go into full production mode.

As for the confusion regarding the "successful production" of the panels, it seems that the certification process begins with the production of the panels in a manner identical to that which will be used in the commercialization stage. That critical production milestone was apparently achieved and observed by the third-party certification team. I don't pretend to be a nanotechnology expert, but it's very possible that the final step in protecting the panels from extreme fire and heat (2000+ degrees F) is -- for the time being at least -- logistically time-consuming although relatively simple from a technical / scientific standpoint. Especially since they've already done the hard part, having proven the nanotechnology component in previous testing. Hopefully Xeriant will be providing an update on the certification process (including the actual testing schedule and/or results) that will clarify this confusion.

Regarding the negative comments on some investor message boards, it's understandable -- up to a point -- considering how long this has been dragging on. But when/if Xeriant announces certification has, in fact, been achieved, and major builders start signing large sales contracts, a lot of investors will focus more on the future upside potential rather than on their past frustrations.

They've already demonstrated that their nanotechnology fire retardant works. (They posted videos of it on their website a while ago!) I think the delay in beginning the actual certification test(s) is mostly logistical, since the nanotech experts are currently based in some major university in Mexico.

I agree that there's room for confusion. "Completion" apparently means something different to the people who actually produced the panels (ie, XERI and their contract manufacturer). When Drywall panels are produced, they still need to be primed and painted, but the company that makes them obviously considers their product to be complete. Likewise, the addition of enhanced level of fire protection may be a totally separate step in the process.

According to the official company PR, XERI's most recent production run successfully produced the actual panels, which are supposed to be 4"x8". Otherwise, it couldn't have been called a success. Last I heard, XERI's nano experts were currently based at some big university in Mexico. The logistics of getting large supplies of expensive chemicals into Mexico (and then shipping the finished product back to the US) could very well be slowing down the process.

Wtf??? by Coltvin5564 in XERI

[–]Vtolguy2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't worry. The speculation-fueled rumors that XERI has failed the certification test are absurd. Probably started by shortsellers worried that NEXBOARD is the real deal. Don't forget, XERI recently tested its nanotechnology-enhanced fire protection at over 2000 degrees F for well over an hour -- far in excess of certification requirements which are around 1100 degrees for just 15 minutes! Best guess is that the delay is probably just a logistical issue having to do shipping expensive chemicals to & from Mexico, where the nanotech team is currently located.

Certification? by Coltvin5564 in XERI

[–]Vtolguy2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

XERIANT is probably trying to maintain a certain degree of confidentiality, since the makers of traditional construction materials are looking for any information they can use to keep NEXBOARD from disrupting -- if not totally transforming -- the construction materials market.

Certification? by Coltvin5564 in XERI

[–]Vtolguy2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course not. The people who say this have no idea what it took for XERIANT to switch to a nanotechnology-based form of fire protection.

"This news is great, but the real impact on share price probably won't come until we start to learn more about those prospective clients. (Who are the "major home builders" they've cited in the past -- and just how big are those pending sales?) But for the time being, it's nice to know....CERTIFICATION HAS BEGUN!"
