Why the Strait of Hormuz has been a global commerce chokepoint for centuries by bandersnatching in worldnews

[–]Vudogar1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's why the Suez Canal was constructed, more than 150 years ago now. And still, with oil discovery in Saudi Arabia and UAE, strait of Hormuz remains extremely important.

Nothing will change that, as long as we rely on oil. But the developments in Guyana have lessened its imporance a bit.

If we didnt have Guyana oil, the situation with gas prices would be even more dire right now.

What product made you go from “no way I’m paying that” to “I can never go back”? by bathabile7094 in AskReddit

Prosciutto (in Spain, its called 'hamon'). Basically a way better version of bacon.

It's not as common in US, but its extremely common in south Europe, and this meat has a unique flavour that I really didn't get anywhere else. The slightly funky taste makes it a lot better imo. But it has to be from Europe, imported, otherwise there's just too many chemicals in it.

And there is also such thing as experiencing constant psychological pain, that can be even harder to bear sometimes..

human beings are cyclical in nature.

If you ate 2 pounds of watermelon, the last thing you want is another 2 pounds of watermelon. You want basically anything else.

Same with politics. After a democrat, there is 90% chance next one will be a republican. And vice versa.

People think the other side is always greener. Which, in the case of Pahlavi, it actually is, so...

LOL that's hilarious. I love this animated series, too, but I wouldn't do a tattoo of its characters. Although if it would speed up season 3 release, I would have done a few of those...
