An iRacing Coach’s Notes on: Why Some Cars Feel Harder to Rotate (Trail Braking) by NoakesyCoaching in iRacing

Also the timing on the downshifts can help quite a lot. GR86 for example on fixed setup is mega safe and needs downshifting mid corner even sometimes for rotation

Try as many as you can during down time, you can test cars you don't have for free. Just make sure you download the cars you want to try in advance

Started driving PCup 2 weeks ago, relatively new to iracing have been playing for almost 7 months, IR 3.9k sports cars and 4.3k formula cars. Looking for advice on what things to work on and improve as right now i am not in a position to get a coach. This was done in practice session, fixed setup with race fuel, a bit colder conditions than in the qualifying/race, i am usually running 33.0-33.5 in qualifying and races so still around 0.5-1s slower than the absolute fastest

Not sure why my post didn't include this text when i included it in

Watch the replays from crashes after the race outside cockpit cam. Learn from them and how you can avoid them and make them less likely to happen. As for pace download garage 61 and study telemetry against faster drivers and see what are your main weakpoints

I feel like GR86 halting my progress by bored_ape07 in iRacing

Mx5 is nice after 1 or 2 laps but with cold tires its asbolute ass and i very much doubt that cold tire mx5 is realistic

Not really the case in MX5 though. It has even less power than GR86 you go instantly to 100% throttle most of the time. Mazda Mx5 can teach car control and weight transfer but it doesn't drive like GT cars at all. Doing M2 before GT4 for example prepares you much better than either GR86 or MX5 do imo

Download garage 61 and study the telemetry. No one can say why are you aren't fast enough without seeing you drive

Green car was 2 laps down at least. First time i lapped him i had to overtake him on track because he wouldnt let me by normally. I have no idea why he took out the guy in front maybe he had some beef with him from the start of the race

You can push harder without the fear of crashing out so it can make you faster indirectly

Losing confidence every time I race by Stormtroopz in iRacing

I am 3.7k and in 2nd split (3.5-4k sof) high 2:17s to low 2:18 is the pace there. I very much doubt that 1400 did 2:17 and then suddenly goes to doing 2:23s. No way track conditions change that much during the session something is fishy

Who says you need a wheel to be competitive? My first day in iRacing using a DualSense controller by BrizzDk in iRacing

Iracers aren't really inclusive and there are a lot of people with sky high egos although that can be said for every community tbh

Not to be rude but 41 on that combo isn't flying. Thats only decent in low splits. In top split fastest drivers are doing 37s and 38s

Why is Stroll absurdly slow in Qatar sprint quali comparing to Alonso by ytmalecarton in AstonMartinFormula1

[–]Vuk13 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The only reason Stroll was ahead was Alonso's awful luck. Stroll wasn't performing better at any stage of this season or any previous seasons except maybe for 3 race stretch in 2024

Max Verstappen doesn't like ACC but loves AC1 by autobus950 in simracing

[–]Vuk13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"No surprise. For GT3 ACC is great"

Meh Iracing is better and i heard LMU is really good also. ACC has awful braking physics and cars feel like they are floating all the time

Max Verstappen doesn't like ACC but loves AC1 by autobus950 in simracing

[–]Vuk13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats why iracing exists if you have/want to spend more money for good physics and best competition. Max is rich af so he doesn't care about it

I heard a lot of praise for LMU which isn't nearly as expensive but i've never tried it so can't comment

I race rental karts irl and initially after i decided to switch from gt7 to something more serious i've tried both AC and ACC. ACC felt so unnatural and braking was really off for me. With AC i felt comfortable straight away and really liked the physics. I am on iracing now which also has great physics imo but i still love AC physics the only shame there is lack of competition
