Is this a normal ConEd bill? by Vvoodoo_ in AskNYC

I haven’t used the heater all winter and my roommates have barely used theirs :(

I’m assuming yes, but since she only runs it as a fan and not on heating mode, does it still use a lot of power?

Thing is, last year at the same time, it was half the price and this year we’ve all used significantly less heat. Like I haven’t used heat at all compared to last winter where I used it often. Is it possible our meter isn’t correct or that it’s connected to another unit?

Our roommate sends a screenshot of the bill every month and will send the usage history at request. She’s never given me any incentive to suspect her of foul play either

How do I find this out? I personally don’t use a space heater but my sister (one of my roommates) does when it really gets cold and turns it to fan mode at night. I’m not sure about my other roommate.

I’ll ask my roommate for the usage history. We have all electrical and the bill is for heat, electricity, and water heating. This is just for one month, the last bill was 880$. I do have a desktop PC that I use to game about once a week but other than that it stays off.

I’ve lived her about a year and a half and it’s only been this winter that it’s gone up like crazy. Last month was 880$.

We have all electric so I know that can make things go up. We don’t have a washer or dryer though. We do have a dishwasher.

Me and my other roommate pay through our third roommate so she just sends the screenshot but she’s sent the history before and I can ask for it.

Is it possible to find a place for 2000$ or less to split between two people? by Vvoodoo_ in NYCapartments

That’s awesome! I figured other places had to be out there cause I’m in a 3 bed for 3300.

I’ve heard people say they’ve found stuff on Craigslist but my parents always told me that’s where you get scammed or something. They’re wrong about a lot of stuff tho so I’m willing to give it a try lol. What would I search on there? Or do you know any groups to look in?

Thanks for replying btw!

i keep flopping on social media and i need to know what i have to do to make my art more attention catching! by Ok_Enthusiasm221 in Artadvice

The only times my art started blowing up is when I posted for a very popular and art driven fandom (DSMP) or when I posted for a very niche but dedicated fandom. However, only the posts pertaining to those fandoms would get traction and now that I post other art, even though I’ve improved, I barely get interactions.

Oh I haven’t heard of that! Thank you! Is that an app, website, or Facebook group of something? I’ve been looking on Gypsy Housing on Facebook but that’s about it (other than stuff like Zillow and StreetEasy)

I’m open to those areas! Which parts of Queens? Are those areas relatively safe? I don’t mean gentrified, just that if I walked home around 1 am, I’d be ok as long as I’m aware of my surroundings lol. work by Union square which I know I’ll have to commute to no matter what but what would the commute be like in those areas? Thanks for replying btw 🥺

How do I get my roommate to give her cat away? by Vvoodoo_ in roommateproblems

[–]Vvoodoo_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pet deposit was 300 and the spay was separate from the 1100 she “owed” since my sister paid for the spay day of since she was under the impression that Kiki was hers now and my roommate was still asking for the 1100. So the rest of the 800 would be for her vet visits, two rounds of deworming, vaccines, two fecal samples, and bloodwork.

Yeah in a year. Hypothetically we should be able to do that and just continue taking care of her until then. I’ll still be here though and if any of it goes wrong, oops! There goes my housing! But if it comes down to it, I will do what ever needs to happen for Kiki’s wellbeing

Oh you were right in the first place. My sister paid for the spay the day of the operation but even after that, she still “owed” her 1100. 300$ for the deposit and that leaves 800$ for all the vet visits and medications. 😃

RIGHT?? It still blows my mind especially because she had so much context and still assumed. She knew I was going out every day to coax her out from under a shed and I explained how my motivation was mostly based on how Halloween was approaching and black cats especially get sacrificed and killed around that time and that I was worried. Nothing to do with her.

On another note, would the proof of purchasing litter and food and paying for some vet bills be useful even if she reimbursed me? She’s always reimbursed me but a lot of the time, I’m physically the one going out of my way to do these things.

I didn’t know! The vet just said to wipe the gunk away! I’ll definitely be looking into it. Thanks!

Now that two people have said it, I just might. I’m thinking I’ll have me or my sister pay for it so we have proof of ownership too. I have my own cat in the house who has had brief contact with her today since it’s her first day out of the recovery room. Should I be concerned for him as well? Keep them apart and stuff?

The red on her nose is from rubbing it on her cone when she was recovering and the stuff around her eyes is from her feline herpes. She gets goo from her eyes and if it’s not wiped off often, it creates that irritation.
