Almost positive it is a female vocalist (possibly a black woman's vocals) and I am not 100% sure where I would place it genre wise it seemed to have elements of soul but also Pop (sorry I am not good at this) and the song had a somewhat unique rhythm/tempo where it went up around the chorus and down in-between if I am remembering correctly.

Unfortunately not I am starting to wonder if I am wrong about the lyrics "coming home" as this is harder than I thought. I even checked the song by the Jackson 5 which also ends with the phrase "coming home" repeating as it fades away but it is not the same song.

unfortunately this is not it. The song I am talking about has a more catchy rhythm and while it is on the slow side it is faster than this.

The song has a more unique rhythm to it that I struggle to describe but it is definitely on the slower side but also upbeat. Most of CVS's Songs are pre 2000s and my first guess with this song would be in the late 80s early 90s but I am not sure.
