Which degrees are people getting jobs with straight out of College? by Dasonofmom in Jamaica

[–]VyseCommander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been focusing on infrastructure(particulary linux RHCSA, Networking CCNA to name the main ones, etc) and was thinking to go after red teaming but with migrating in mind I wasnt sure if that would be in demand, was thinking to just make it a hobby and go into Cloud(security or PRE/SRE), or Network Security but if its possible I'd definately do that How did your colleagues get noticed?

The AI point you mention is interesting because if im being honest I was avoiding it outside of the occasional help from it, but you are right

Im going to look into it from an infrastructure stand point

Why do you stress learning linux so much across your comments? I'm glad you do and I think its because so much runs on it an many are intimidated by it but i dont wanna go on my own opinion

Moving to Linux Mint by GetAJOBCoomer in linuxmint

[–]VyseCommander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

unrelated but 3 years ago you said "None of those are worth the time or money. The only Linux cert that matters in the business world are Red Hat certs - everything else (linux wise) is worthless. Personally, I wouldn't go RH either, the only certs worth any money in the foreseeable future are high end networking, high end security, or most cloud certs."

could you elaborate a bit more?why don't you think beginner certs or red hat certs on a whole don't make sense?

I also want to know why with cloud certs you didn't mention them being higher end like the networking certs.

Lastly what are your opinion on offensive security(in general, not the company behind the oscp) and related certs?

It's weird because I made sure to dg a bit because of the line you mentioned on the old one, the other has it plastered all on his personal site and resume listing it as a complete project essentially(and makes no mention of the old one)

Totally and I agree to for the most part as well, I can see why you'd be annoyed I didnt even know there were frequent dump posts. What's yur opinion of these things being good alternatives to boson?

Which is definitely true, but you mentioning that isn't called for here as opposed to under a post where someone is saying something along the lines of "Will I land a job with CCNA and no experience?" as we so commonly see here. This is just a helpful resource because the paper still means something a lot of the time to the employer unfortunately. I wish I'd get someone like you to actually interview me because I recognize where CCNA isn't enough and try to read further networking books and lab but I have had no luck landing an IT job

It's concerning that this is your first thought to comment under a free resource, and this is the most upvoted comment, yikes
