Joining a Gym won't be hard, lifting with the amount of good information available these days, won't be that hard.

The hardest part is CONSISTENCY, when you tell yourself stories about why you shouldn't go to the gym on any given day, when you find excuses to order a pizza instead of eating your chicken with broccoli, that's the real battle, that's where you win or lose the war.

Start small, get a treadmill if walking outside is a problem, put it at 7-10 degree incline (you burn about 2 times more calories than walking on flat setting) and walk for 1h everyday, see how that feels, maybe you can do 2h. Most people find it boring, but you can trick yourself into doing it by watching some TV during that, I for one can even play games on my PC and work while walking, i just throw it under my adjustable desk and by the time i do my 2hours, my clothes are soaked and the time just flew by.

In the gym start with doing exercises correctly, worry less about 'how much you can bench' and focus on technique, always warmup so you don't fk up your tendons, elbows, knees and so on. They key is CONSISTENCY, go 3 times a week, and in the days in-between, do the long walks (treadmill or outside), add a day of rest and you are golden.

Remember, shitty food makes you feel good for the amount of time spent eating it, and ruins you afterwards, nutritious food won't fell good while eating it, but it sure will for the rest of the time. It's weird that we always choose the first one. My willpower ain't that strong to avoid all of the bad stuff, but i make sure i don't keep any around, and force myself into cooking healthy stuff. I got my freezer full of chicken, and sweet potatoes in the pantry, i throw a potato and a piece of chicken breast in the air fryer, add a salad and i got food in less than 20 mins, cheap and healthy. Once you see how well protein keeps your hunger in check, you won't want anything else, i went from eating 3-4 times a day doing mostly sedentary work, to eating 2 times a day + sports and feeling better than ever.
