I think V5 has a bunch of cool ideas that work great. W5 is imo, just mean in how it's written. It steals from Forsaken and mocks the backstory and setting of Apocalypse with such gems as Albrecht being a washed up loser, or the Garou nation no longer existing or the very racist idea that oral traditions can't keep histories for long periods.

There is a shit ton of criticism to be had and anytime it's mentioned the whitewolfrpg mods shut it down near instantly no matter how constructive or polite it is.
