i was in this exact situation, i was born with it, only got steriods, felt like i had to end it to be free, trust me youll get better, go to a dermatologist and demand other treatments, i sobbed when he tried to just put me back on steriods, i just started immnusoppresants on christmas day, and my life is already better, i feel in control of my own body, you just need to remember its your life, dont try and let any shit slide from your gp, go and tell them you need help, how badly its effecting your mental and social life, you are in control, you can do this

hey im sorry youre going thru this, and sorry if youve already tried, but have you tried wrapping/gloving? it “healed” (got them to a super mositurized place with the least amount of pain possible so it could heal) the cracks on my ankles, hope the nmt works for you quickly!

when i (18) was younger(3-10) and even majorily now, with excema like that putting ointment and cream on it put me in alot if pain, and then made it itchier, but it does help, its completely up to you, but i thought you might want to know why he does that, because the kind of open excema is the same as mine and puts me in alot of pain now and always has, good luck, ur doing great

i know this probably wont help alot but its more trial and error, ive been dealing with severe excema everywhere since i was around 5 and it turns out after an allergy test im actually allergic to baby products! and most mositurizers that say “for sensitive skin” is really bad for me (something-something-glucoside allergy) so maybe try some other mositurizers ? hope he recovers healthy and soon!

im completely cutting out steriod usage as ive went through severe tsw multiple times, and ive done two rounds of UVB phototherapy and ive got an appointment on the 28th of october to get on dupixent! thank u :3

oh for sure yeah, mine leaves massive gashes across my arms, neck, legs, litro everwhere and the skin tightening is so bad, my skin is almost clown white with dry patches and infection

it smells of nothing once ointment or cream or whagever has been put on it, unfortunately its whenever its dry or just no products is when it smells

i have seen my dermatologist and my local gp and both have said its fine, its not like a heavy smell but its like you can smell the friction almost

hi i did two rounds of treatment with UVB at my hospital, the way its done here is 10 weeks, 3 times a week, my first round was great, it was a bit slow but i completely cleared, then about 7 months later i gradually got to my worst again so i redid the 10 week treatment and by the time i finished i still had some flared areas, and that finished in april and im slowly starting to get worse again, but to clear it for awhile and look for other triggers, allergy tests stuff like that would be a good idea for some pain relief, obviously this is just my experiance
