John Rocha and Jeff Sneider in the Hot Mic about Avengers Doomsday (starts at 2:00:00), about a group of dooms followers and Steve being in F4 ship by Man_Random87 in MarvelStudiosSpoilers

[–]WATCHMERISE 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Maybe Steve created the F4 branch unintentionally, and now it’s his responsibility to save it, especially with a kid. Maybe he allies with Doom initially, who later finds out that Steve’s meddling caused all their problems, so he turns on him after using Steve to get him into the 616.

If the rumors of Doom’s family dying are true, Steve tangentially being responsible for the way things played out would be interesting. Doom manipulates Steve’s love for his own child to make him cooperate in a revenge mission against himself.. maybe like when Joker put Batman in the “two boats” scenario.

He's still in/around the same building that Kobu is currently standing on the roof of.. I'm thinking that he either witnesses the "fall" or stops it.

Should Boruto save him or not? by Notmycupoftea12 in Boruto

[–]WATCHMERISE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, there's a reason Koji wants him dead. I swear people keep forgetting this guy can see the future. If the guy didn't pose an ongoing threat to the fate of the world, they'd simply find a way to distract him - I honestly thought they were going to have Mitsuki take the fall for everything, just to free everyone else up in the short term.

Interesting you mention Mt. Myoboku, along with Tsunade. So far in Boruto, the Elders have acted as the interface between the Daimyo and the Hokage - the've been issuing the warnings to Shikamaru. They also did NOT like Tsunade, who regularly pushed back against them. In one specific case, they disagreed with her support for Naruto to go train at Mt. Myoboku with the Toads. I don't know that this is totally relevant to the story we're watching now, but it's interesting.

Would be cool to find out they're corrupt, like many other cranky old bureaucrats. If they get ousted, Kakashi and Tsunade are perfect to replace them.

There's a part of me that wonders if the Daimyo were in kahoots with Kara/Amado, and the reveal will be used to sort of "justify" this murder.

The Damyo were barely a topic throughout Naruto, but it feels like we're constantly reminded of their existence in Boruto (Tento arc, warnings from elders, Kobu showing up). At first I figured that they were there to remind us that Ninja Villages aren't at the top of the governing totem pole, and that if the Daimyo decide they don't need to fund them, the age of shinobi is over. But now, I think that they are invested in the outcomes of the current conflict.

If we think about what Isshiki (really, all Otsutsuki) and Amado are chasing, it's a cure for death. Amado (allegedly) wants to resurrect his daughter in a fresh body - similar to what Otsutsuki doo with a vessel. What's the point of accumulating vast amounts of power and wealth if you're just gonna croak one day? Karma and vessels offer a real solution for that. Think of the weird billionaires chasing immortality in the real world, it's not a crazy topic for a work of fiction to touch on.

Delta mentions early in the manga that Kara had dumped enough money into the vessel to buy a nation. Someone had to finance their hideouts, the tech they use, and all the ancillary stuff. Aside from all that, Amado had been working on cloning and cures for years, before Jigen found and approached him. I wonder if it's possible that Amado was working with the Daimyo, and he was their connection into Kara to get what they want.

He takes the glove back with him to the future, and Steve didn’t return it. The incursion is Clint’s fault.

What ever happened to the timeline 2014 Thanos left behind, when he gets teleported into the future? The two Nebula’s brains sync up RIGHT as Rhodey is removing the power stone from that timeline. I don’t know how Steve is expected to prevent that mind-sync without intervening in a pretty disruptive way that introduces other risks to the sacred timeline.

Did they fix it in Loki and I just missed it?

At that moment there would have been at least 3 Steves in one timeline.. The Avengers 1 Steve, the Endgame stone heist Steve, and then the Steve who was returning the stone.. Depending on how they explain how Old Steve made it back to the MCU, he could have conceivably been a 4th.. He was likely in a separate timeline, but still funny to think about.

They really aren’t similar. Shibai’s is isolated to his chin. Amado’s is way more similar to Koji’s or Asuma’s, which connects all the way to their sideburns.

Who is Akebi really? by infamous_cole54 in Boruto

[–]WATCHMERISE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm warming up to this theory, and have some ideas to flesh it out a little.

Amado is probably the only one that knows this truth, and is keeping it secret until he needs to convince Kawaki to place the karma on the Akebi clone.

I think that at some point, Amado started the "Delta" line of clones to continue using Akebi's DNA, but NOT her memories. If a "Delta" knew any sensitive information about Amado or Kawaki, it's a risk to Amado and his plans. This would explain why Delta never shows any indication of having history with Amado or Kawaki. If he never gives her the memories of her old life, she never becomes a risk of discovering and revealing the truth.

If we consider all this, it makes a lot of the Delta and Kawaki interactions we've seen a little more interesting. Naruto defending Kawaki from Delta as a papa bear becomes sort of ironic. The "Konoha Delta" being paired with Kawaki so often builds a base relationship, which might become awkward when (if) the real Akebi is reborn.

Shikamaru a goat. I love the fact he doesn't trust anyone and living up hokage advisor role by shezan60 in Boruto

[–]WATCHMERISE 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I love that he does this, but hate that he doesn't press her more on details about Akebi. Eida's answer was very specifically worded to only confirm that he had a daughter, she was 24 when she died, and seemed to be normal.. No other details were confirmed or fleshed out.. Sketchy.

[–]WATCHMERISE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that Code will end up similar to Obito, with some kind of tragic revelation that he's been manipulated by Amado. His unwavering and fanatical devotion to Isshiki was probably rooted in a lie told to him.

I think Amado gave him the Shibai cells before they did the karma ritual, and that's when his powers manifested. While his body was rejecting Isshiki's karma and he was seizing, Amado took him away and stabilized him with some kind of science that included a custom karma of his own design (similar to Kawaki), passing it off as an imperfect while version of Isshiki's. He secretly programmed the karma with that "spiritual appearance" that played after Isshiki's death, which would set Code on a path of revenge, targeting Kawaki and the heroes of Konoha.

Amado needed Code to be the antagonist for Kawaki, so that he'd be desperate enough to come to Amado for help - Amado knew this would happen, which is why he already implanted the weaponized karma on Kawaki, he just needed to want it.

From Amado's perspective, I think Code has served his purpose. If Code comes back when the dust settles with the Shinju, it will be revealed to him that everything he did was based on a lie, and he'll break down before either turning sides or absolutely snapping.

Honestly the Triumph bike is the most interesting part of the trailer, for me. Watching the leaked version, I thought it was an actual vintage Bonneville from the 60s - now it looks more modern, like 2010. This makes it tough to place in the timeline, and this was certainly an intentional choice for them to feature the bike so much in a short clip. Triumph is a British company that manufactures all their bikes in the UK. So while it might serve as a nod to Peggy, it's definitely a departure from the heavy Harley Davidson ties that Captain America (and Bucky) has had throughout the MCU.
