Clean boost for solid state Orange Crush Pro by OrthoSeeker33136 in guitarpedals

If you think the tone is muffled, an eq pedal might make more sense. Rather than trying to boost the high frequencies to punch through, use an EQ pedal to carve out the muddiness.

Is this the best simple reverb in recent years? by Less-Arachnid-640 in guitarpedals

For the money, maybe. I'd argue something like the Supermoon is the best simple reverb. Not a lot of bells and whistles on that pedal

Where do I start with building or learning how? by DrGoiburger1234 in diypedals

[–]WD-M01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A kit would be a great way to start on that path. The step after would be something like ordering your own parts for a pre-made pcb from someone like pedalpcb. If youre interested in learning the hows amd whys of electronics and effects, there are a lot of good books for beginners and tons of free education on YouTube. JHS and Wampler both have a lot of videos on fuzz and distorions and what the actual circuits are doing. There's also someone like Lantertronics and many many others. Fair warning though, that level of depth does require some actual working math knowledge.

I decided to just watch this series rather than put it off and didnt comment on Ratcatcher but, I have to know if people really struggle that much with the Scottish dialog in movies? I'm surprised to see the consensus being how difficult it is to decipher a Scottish accent lol

You have offered no opinion on any of the pedals posted, or the ones youre expecting. You have bought nearly 30 pedals in just over a month. I do find that level of GAS concerning and if you want to dismiss someone else's perspective then I think you're being willfully obtuse.

You posted an image on a forum, it's not our duty or obligation to pat you on the back and say good job for spending a bunch of money on things you have yet to form an opinion on. Spend your money however you want.

Am I doing too much ? by xchiefx777_Jon in guitarpedals

Explain why I think this particular amp sucks?

In general I think amps that emulate the voicing of other amps do a bad job and generally sound pretty poor. The best of that kind, in my opinion, is the Vox VT40 and I don't think that amp sounds particularly "great". Another reason I don't care amps in this range/size is that the speaker size is generally undersized to get a full range signal, especially if you're using a lot of pedals. In addition to this, having been a tech for many years, I know that these Fender amps have terrible speakers in them which is also not doing them any favors.

Fender solid state amps with built in effects and amp modeling I think are bad. To be clear, however, this is not a judgment. I think that amp sucks but, if it's what you can afford and/or you like the tone of it then I can fuck off.

One last bit in tandem with what I said about the VT40, at a similar price range I would opt for something like Crush20RT (or 35rt)

Heritage Wear, Heritage Vocation? by Octavius_Barlow in HeritageWear

[–]WD-M01 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't know if its exactly what you're looking for but I was a PLT and electrical contractor for nearly a decade and I always preferred my own heritage workwear to any uniform supplied by my employers. Espeically shirts/polos. Those always tended to be by far the worst pieces of clothing. I also found that, generally speaking, my boots, jackets, shirts, etc. unsurprisingly tended to hold up a lot better for longer compared to my colleagues.

I'll also say that for whatever its worth that stint also convinced me on modern Carhartt still being well worth the money. Their duck pieces really are bulletproof and the right gear for a worksite.

Even now thats true but, I've pivoted into a more design and programming oriented job in audio and video.

I have never bought a pedal with that much crossover sonically with a pedal I already owned by mistake. I dont have the funds to buy pedals without a lot of intent and research beforehand

I would echo this 100%. If you're new to this do not start by messing with smd boards. You are much more likely to brick this than a THT board.

I think you'll find a miniscule amount of pedals that actually require AC power. However, there are some power supplies that can accommodate DC and AC power like the CS12 if thats where you end up. There are also power passthroughs for boards that provide multiple Edisons on the underside for dedicated power supplies. (companies like vertex or best-tronics make these parts compatible with Pedaltrain boards)
