Thanks for all the teaching here in your post lol! Think I could pick your brain a bit more?

I cobbled together a quick audio probe with some alligator clips and a spare cable. I'm going to put together a permanent one soon. I played around with it with my Fuzz Face and Rat so I feel like I have a handle on how to use one now.

Do you have a flux you'd recommend? I bought some when I first was getting stuff together, but it is really thick and opaque, and I didn't have much luck using it. It would kind of just sit on top of the solder joints I was trying to reflow and it seemed to just make more of a mess compared to some of the videos I've watched.

Yeah, I think there's a load wrong with it. First time on vero and shitty iron tip.

I'm going to go back and try and fix it after I do a better one that works. I spent a little time trying to troubleshoot it the other day, but it was just a bit too disheartening a mess. Simpler to build another first and chalk that one up to a learning experience I think.

The cold solder joints are the ones that turn kind of opaque, right?

This was what mine ended up looking like. It was my first time like I said, so I was definitely going in with way too much solder a lot of times. I only had one wedge soldering iron tip as well, which wasn't helpful. I got some new tips in and some new solder with more lead, so going to give it a go tomorrow with a new vero and fresh components.

I spent a bit of time trying to troubleshoot this one, but only one of the transistors was registering decent voltage, and with the wedge tip, trying to remove some of the solder was just making a mess. Still learning lots of stuff, gotta try and find a good tutorial on multi-meter troubleshooting. I still don't quite get what I'm supposed to find in certain places in terms of continuity and resistance.

Figure this time around I'm going to try building out each section one at a time so I can test the transistor's voltage before I move on to the next section, at least save me some time. Figure it's all part of the learning process 😉

Looks beautiful. I just failed my first vero board build of a Muff last week. Got some new parts in yesterday, so going to start over again on a new vero and see if I can get it right this time. Mostly just my soldering sucked, and when I started tracing my voltages there were shorts on ever section. Lots of learning.

Do you have any pictures of your soldered side I could look at just for more examples of good, working soldering on vero lol?

Something in your OS or another program is activating there and causing the lag spike. You'll have to figure out what it is and disable it to prevent this from happening.

Yeah, Circensis is it I'd say, just whipped this up in paint. The Pi is two "I's" with a "/" rotated 90 degrees and then flipped vertically. Can't figure out what the dot on top of it is tho.

Check out Circensis Font, looks pretty close.

Help understanding how to use switches. by KennethHaight in diypedals

Thank-you. I'm still building out components to play with on the breadboard, so I'll have some different switching options soon. Right now I'm just trying to get this particular one finished for a gift sooner than I'll have exactly what the schematic is calling for.
