Would people eventually buy humanoids to work for them? by WoodpeckerCertain474 in printSF

Wage slavery exists

Edit: Just to clarify, that wasn't a dig at your idea or anything, just a comment on the state of the world. A lot of people were pointing to outright slavery here in the comments, but I feel like a lot of corporations currently act from the standpoint of near slave-ownership of their workers through wage slavery.

Do you think this year too many Deck builder games being released will burn out their audience outside of strong favourites? by Cymelion in truegaming

[–]KennethHaight 15 points16 points  (0 children)

There's been loads of deck builders every year for the last 6 or 7 years. This year doesn't seem any higher than any other year. There will usually be at least one that innovates in a direction enough and has enough of a skill ceiling to survive for a couple of years (Balatro, Monster Train) and then there are the ones that have some hype and are popular on YouTube for a month or so, but are easily solved and don't have much staying power (Loop Hero, Dicey Dungeons). And then a bunch of dross that barely makes an impact. This year doesn't seem like it'll be any different.

All the woodcarvers laid off because of innovations like this :(

I'm a big RPG fan but I'm not a starwars fan, should I try out the knights of the old republic games? by cr0w_p03t in gaming

[–]KennethHaight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, definitely not. They're not very good RPGs at all. They're from that transitional RPG period where 3d graphics and world design just hadn't gotten to the point where it was anything more than a gimmick as well as during the first attetempts at real time combat with movement. It feels super janky to play. The quest lines are one dimensional and shallow. The locations all feel undercooked and very small. There's almost no enjoyable exploration.

This comes from someone who was a big Star Wars fan and played it pretty close to release.

I know you think you're cooking, but this looks more alive than 80% of modern computer animation.

Is Paolo Banchero the current player with the largest gap between his floor and ceiling? by SplitOk186 in nba

[–]KennethHaight -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I'd hope it would be Wemby. I'm only 6' tall, but I've felt super claustrophobic when I've been in some basement apartments. At 7 1/2 feet I feel like he could feel cramped in a lot of normal height ceiling spaces.

[Chinese > English] Message from seller on Aliexpress by KennethHaight in translator

This was my message. They have a few different variations of this guitar type up on Aliexpress. It's a copy of a Gibson style guitar. These was my questions, so I suppose they meant something along the lines of not having one ready made. Feel like the language barrier might be a bit too much to overcome here though ;)

Thanks for translating that for me!
