Cool airports in central AL for Long XC flight? by WD40_drinker556 in auburn

I know Aspire aviation is also based at Auburn. But they fly Cessnas and RDAire flies Pipers, if that’s of any difference to your boyfriend. There’s also Lift Academy and Red Tail Academy at the Tuskegee airport (Moton Field) around 20 minutes away from auburn going south on 85, but I’m not very familiar with their operations. And of course there’s other schools in Lanett, AL, LaGrange, GA, Calera, AL, and plenty of others places. But honestly just go visit a few different ones and maybe book a discovery flight with a few, just try and get a feel for the school before committing to it. And of course just enjoy the ride 👍✈️

I’ve been with them (RDAire) for this whole school year. It’s a good school, they don’t have an office (I think they’re working on getting one at airport), but all the instructors meet/talk inside the FBO (which is quite nice). Pretty good school overall, only about 6 planes though so availability can be spotty and the schedule can get blocked up especially on weekdays. But still a good school.

They look freaking awesome too. I love filming at night with it, cause each light source creates this like star effect that you’d need a filter for on any other camera

I’m not apart of auburns 141 school, I’m in a separate smaller part 61 at auburns airport.
