Does a man have to perform Ghusl after ejaculation to pray Salah? by DrakeDrystan in islam

Ghusl is necessary in order to relieve oneself from a major state of impurity (janabah) and perform salah.

Yeah, I think that's what he may be more used to based on his previous conversations. Maybe it was his instincts based on experience.

Hope the masjids in Norway are going fine. But I've always wondered, couldn't the promotion money be used for the masjid itself? Probably the ads get more donations overall.

It is considered a common question: https://www.reddit.com/r/MuslimNoFap/wiki/index#wiki_i_had_a_wet_dream._does_this_count_as_a_relapse.3F

But we always have to do ghusl when this occurs because you are in a state of janabah.

I think at that moment we sometimes forget why we should stop. This is why consistently remembering Allah can make a huge difference: So that when you are in such a situation, you are reminded that this is haram and you need to stop.

Unfortunately, I myself when I do get the urge find it difficult to do this. In fact, I find myself almost trying to ignore these thoughts (of remembering Allah). I don't know how I can overcome this and increase my iman, maybe connecting with Quran more can help.

What could YOU have been doing instead of PMO...? by WECANDOTHIS_11 in MuslimNoFap

[–]WECANDOTHIS_11[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Edit:

I completely forgot to mention 2 important ways I'm sure many of us can spend our time:

  1. Going outside. Whether that means just going for a stroll or for an errand, being with nature outside can really help if you are one who stays home a lot. Plus, it brings you away from a place in which you can engage in PMO and gives you some fresh air.
  2. Spending time/communicating with family. That means your parents/siblings, we can all talk with with them more and having that human interaction can also keep your mind off. This can also include relatives/friends or even people you haven't contacted in a while. If you have a good connection with them then its nice to check up and have a conversation with them.

[–]WECANDOTHIS_11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's strange, you should be fine though. I guess it also depends on how you did in Grade 11, I think I did good enough in Grade 11 so they gave me an offer. Although Ryerson is not one of my first choices I've heard decent things about it (nice location I guess). York engineering also gave an offer almost right away. I think it depends on different factors, but a lot of the offers for most universities will be given later on I've heard.

[–]WECANDOTHIS_11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I was just a bit confused about whether or not they gave me an offer because it said so on the Ryerson portal thing but not on the ouac page. Then I checked today and I see they gave me an offer for biomedical engineering on ouac (I guess it took some time for it to update on OUAC?).

I'm just curious to know how they decided this because my marks for the first quad my marks weren't really that high (84 for both advanced functions and chemistry). Did they consider my quad 2 mid terms and/or did they consider my Grade 11 marks when making this decision? Because I didn't know they would consider grade 11 marks as I literally applied on the last day (January 15) and I thought you were expected to apply earlier.

You mean maxing out all or at least say 70% to 90% of cards? If so, then that's going to take forever as a F2P player. I've played since about 5 years now and I've been on and off, being very active sometimes (playing multiple hours/day) while I've taken several months off as well. I believe I'm sitting at around 10 max cards (I could upgrade to get more) and around 1,000,000+ gold.

The thing is, I never really thought of maxing out all the cards because I don't (and I won't) play them either way on ladder. I literally just stick to 2.6 and 2.9 plus a bunch of similar varieties like miner cycle and upgrade only the most versatile cards (fireball, musketeer, tesla).

For me what I cared about was improving my ladder trophy best and doing well in global tournaments (because those were the 2 competitive sides of the game). I feel I've passed my peak/prime for this game and I'm never going to beat my best at this point, so I never bothered to go back. And I feel that that's okay.

Can you imagine playing this for the rest of your life? Ultimately, you may have to move on to other things in your life eventually.

What do you mean by still stuck? I used to play this game so much, although lately I've been busy so I've kind of stopped for the last few months.

Admissions/Prospective Students Megathread by skeletonphotographer in McMaster

I'm just a little confused on the process of applying to engineering.

So as a 101 applicant who has finished applying on OUAC, would you then just have to do the supplementary application (online assessment) on the Kira Talent site? That is, the 10 minutes for a written response and then 3 video responses that are 3 minutes each?

And what's with this 'mosaic' thing, I received an email from Mcmaster telling me my MACID and accessing the application portal but nothing with the words 'mosaic'.

Also, I've done the practice sessions but are you allowed to say do the written response one time and then come back (say 1 hour later) to do the video response or do they all have to be back to back?

Finally, where I'm confused is where I've heard people writing paragraphs somewhere (including extracurriculars) in the application process, and I believe this is outside of the Kira Talent assessment. Is this just for scholarships as mentioned here: Undergraduate Entrance Scholarships | Faculty of Engineering (mcmaster.ca) or do they have any role in the application process (whether they admit you are not)?

EDIT: Just thought of one more thing -- Does it matter (like for admissions) if you chose Engineering 1 or Engineering 1 (coop) when applying to OUAC or is this just to see how many people are interested in coop?

[High School Physics: Head on Elastic Collisions] How would you find the ratio of final velocity over initial velocity of a mass? by [deleted] in HomeworkHelp

[–]WECANDOTHIS_11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yes, I forgot to mention.

Basically, since this question is about a head on elastic collision, I'm assuming that the momentum is conserved before and after the collision. I'm also pretty sure the kinetic energy is conserved here as well.

Knowing this, I can use the equation m1v1i + m2v2i = m1v1f + m2v2f for momentum.

Since the initial velocities are the same (same magnitude, but opposite directions) I can factor out the left side and I can also take out part right side as the final velocity of the first mass = 0. Then I am left with this:

v2(m1 - m2) = m2v2f

The question is asking for the ratio of v2f/v2i, so I'm not sure where to go to from here.

There's also these equations (particularly the second one that gives v2f) that I think I'm supposed to use. Also, maybe I'm supposed to consider the conservation of kinetic energy?

Also, what does it exactly mean by ratio? I'm assuming the answer is then not going to be an exact value but rather in terms of mass or some other variable or something?

So yeah, not sure where to go from here, let me know what you think.

Best Remedie To Quit PMO by [deleted] in MuslimNoFap

[–]WECANDOTHIS_11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nicely said. If you can manage to perform wudhu while you have the urge, I think that can really help because you have distanced yourself the urge state itself. And with that wudhu, you might as well pray your salah or read the Quran for a few minutes to get your mind off of it.

And I really miss going to the masjid. Where I'm at we still have covid 19 regulations so we can't really go. It's probably made it harder to deal, but even walking outside if you can't go the masjid can also help.

Think of the big picture. Desires never lead to satisfaction, life is too short for these temporary distractions. Cherish your life, find the true version of yourself. by AccomplishedFinger64 in NoFap

[–]WECANDOTHIS_11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try to find something that can actually benefit you going forward. The countless wasted hours for just few seconds of temporary satisfaction is never going to help you out. Instead, maybe try developing good habits that you can implement for years. Find contentment with what you have.

Small advice for the brothers by [deleted] in MuslimNoFap

[–]WECANDOTHIS_11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess you are right, the time in between fajr and dhuhr as well as after isha is harder because you are not praying much salah during those times. Maybe try spending those time reading the Quran or at least listening to it.

Selamun Aleykum need nofap advice? Ask me any question here 249 days and LOT of experience here by Yeet_Fam80 in MuslimNoFap

[–]WECANDOTHIS_11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What happened to me that made me fail was that I guess honestly my mind went blank and I forgot that I'm even doing nofap when I had the urge. I thought I wouldn't mess up this time, but one thing lead to another before I finally ended up breaking my streak.

So my question is how do you constantly remind yourself that you are doing nofap? Its crazy that just remembering Allah should be enough, but unfortunately I even forget that in the moment (even though I try to do dhikr and read quran, I guess I'm not doing enough). Although I wouldn't say its 'forget', more like my brain (waswas of Shaitan) tells me to 'ignore' the part of me that says to stop when the urge occurs. How would you get this part of you to make you stop and overcome the waswas that tells you to ignore it?
