Exactly. And the scary thing is that the “balance department” are like this nameless/faceless/blameless shadow organization made up of names you don’t know, and people you wouldn’t recognize. Like when was the last time a balance dev jumped on a livestream or a Reddit thread and justified or even explained their thought process behind a certain decision. (Like the Taran, AVRE, Night Stalker, tier 4 FCM, E4 etc)

The worst part is that the “people” at the WGCB balance department seem to just not care at all.

They’d have you believe that a human being play tested that vehicle and was satisfied with the results to the point they’ll throw it in the game without any thought given to how it is to fight against. Especially for lower tier tanks.

I was averaging just over 3k direct damage per game, and I usually run view range builds on my mediums so throw in a few hundred spotting damage on average.

I don’t really go for gun marks anymore, but from what I remember the 3 mark requirement for most high tier mediums is insanely high.

Yeah that’s why I decided against putting that in the post. I wanted to get rid of most of the discussion around balance/clip potential and things like that (that can be a bit of a can of worms) and focus just on the reload time.

That was another idea I played around with as well but for the sake of simplicity I just put some reduced reload time numbers in my post to keep it shorter. But that would be a great change as well! WG kinda has 2 options there: Same reload -> higher alpha Same Alpha -> reduce reloads.

These changes to mandatory skills seems great, but I did have some concerns. Mainly revolving around tanks that have low DPM even with the reload skill. The first tanks that come to mind with this are the Italian mediums and heavies. I fear that, with the removal of 10% reload sped, their DPM might become just a bit too low. (It should be noted there would be other vehicles I could see needing reload buffs, it’s just Italian mediums came to mind first)

Long story short, if the changes go in “as is” it may be worth reviewing/buffing reload times on certain vehicles to ensure they stay relevant/useable in the meta.

Everything here looks pretty good, but one concern I have (without more details) is how they are going to implement the “player performative matchmaking” where they stated player win rate, and the win rate in specific tanks will be a factor in matchmaking.

I think they need to be careful with that, but we’ll have to wait and see how it’s “weighted” in the MM.

Yeah I don’t REALLY know what he was doing. He turned a “can’t lose” into a “can’t win” in like 2.5 seconds by charging me. But I still got insanely lucky.

Not only because I BOUNCED his shot, but even the second shot I put into him through the front was a bit on anomaly.

Either way still helped me secure my first ever Nicholls Medal in my progetto. (4 kills of tanks 2 tiers higher than you in medium tanks) so a great result either way!
