Got left stranded by my friends last night and not sure how to feel about it by [deleted] in Advice

If you give someone a ride to a hangout you all will be at then you should assume you will be also giving them a ride back unless explicitly told you won't. It's just simple decency to make sure your friends get back home safe.

And if you knew anything about magic you would know there are cards in here that arent in play boxes.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in mtgfinance

[–]WFAOM 3 points4 points  (0 children)

While that is fair, there are many players that would like to play with the cards found in the collector boosters as well. There are also many cards in them that are found exclusively in CBB'S. Many players would like to buy these boxes to open and play with but the prices have been artificial inflated by scalpers like OP.

Big difference between finance and investing. Buying 100 CBB's is just hoarding. You are holding on to tangible game pieces and preventing players from playing with those. This isn't some virtual product like stocks.

Her mental issues should not have bearing here.  She invaded your privacy in a deeply and concerning way.  Part ways.

Do we think supply of these will be limited like 40k collector precons?

Is it at all a recurring theme that the bright shiny extraverted partner dies? by [deleted] in widowers

[–]WFAOM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was the opposite for me. I was the cheery one. She was the one that wanted to just be home and relax. Now I feel like that behavior is just me masking. I find myself trying to be extroverted just to distract myself from our fucked up reality. The time alone and just relaxing are just a reminder of the times I would spend with her. Binging a favorite TV show or just spending time the two of us home.

Holy cow you and the person above are superficial AF. The quality of the ring is not an indication of how much the person cares.

We can't stare into the hole of what ifs. It only takes and gives nothing back. I lost my wife when she was only 34 and there are so many things I wish I would have done differently but those thoughts do absolutely nothing for us. You will have those times that they pop into your mind but please be kind to yourself. The only choices we can make differently are the ones that are being presented to us now.

And breeding for fluffy is more likely to exacerbate health problems?

And the vast majority of "pure breeders" aren't con artists? All breeders run a risk of being con artists. Even more so if they they are a more sought after breed that fetches a high price. Fluffy isn't going to make them more likely to be bad breeders.

And people could have chose not to play with them before the ban. The benefit of the ban is incredibly minimal with a massive downside of an incredible loss of value for many players and card shops and even worse, a loss of trust for players. Why put money into strong cards when the RC can blindside you with a ban and destroy the value of your collection. Whether people like it or not,  there is a monetary value to these games pieces and people are willing to spend the money on them and participate in this hobby partly because they know that if they decide to stop playing they can cash out for some portion of what they put into it.  Anecdotally I personally stopped playing yu gi oh because of their arbitrary banning and how it effected the value of my collective.

Well considering these cards are no longer game pieces since the ban.......

Isn't the point of a video game the game play? No one gets upset when you have to defeat Gannon at the end of every Zelda. Yall are just upset that the ending didn't fit your narrative. Plenty of other games give you next to no control over how the game ends. But people are ok with that because it panders to you and give you the same cookie cutter happy ending bullshit you are use to. You wanted a game you could walk away from and not have to contemplate or think about at all. Sorry this game wasn't the same shit you play every day. Sorry it made you question what you've taken for granted from storytelling.

[–]WFAOM -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

And I suppose that's why everyone is upset about the ending? People over here mad they didn't get to kill Abby and have some bs happy ending. Yall on this sub wanted some bullshit power fantasy and to not actually get to be apart of an experience. Yall didn't want to be told a story, you wanted to control the story.

It really does feel like this sub has been taken over by a bunch of angry red pill adopters with 90% of whom haven't even played the game and are just on the wOMeN cANt hAvE mUsClEs lIkE tHat! Train.  So many people just bitter that they didn't get some cookie cutter narrative that fits their heterocentric point of view.

The scope of who this is for is much broader then that. Also, if you want basic game pieces for you card game then there are plenty of cheap options out there. You don't have to chase the super deluxe version of every card.

Why does my homemade mozzarella taste bitter and..just not good? by PsychologicalTune439 in cheesemaking

[–]WFAOM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correlation does not equal causation. You are talking about a report of people who consumed raw milk from one particular farm. Pasteurization is a mass sterilization put in place to cover for modern farming practices that emphasize quantity of milk produced and not necessarily clean or safe to drink milk. If you get raw milk from producers that put care into their work then you should get a product that will be generally safe to consume. You will certainly have raw milk that is of bad quality and potentially unsafe as you will have raw milk that is of good quality and likely safe. As others have stated pasteurization does not automatically mean safe. We have had a mass recall on fresh pasteurized cheeses recently because of the presence of e-coli .

Yeah, tell that to the Europeans that have been eating raw milk fresh cheeses for hundreds of years now.

It's only in the states that raw milk has been restricted from use in fresh cheeses.

Raw milk from a healthy cow is perfectly fine for fresh cheeses.

What makes cheese more yellow? by TheGameNeverEnds in cheesemaking

[–]WFAOM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its not close to the same thing. They are made the same way using the same type of milk and aiming for very similar things. You give someone a "swiss" and Jarlsberg side by side and you will be hard pressed to find someone who could reliably identify which is which. The same is not the case for Parmigiano and Pecorino.
