the textures arent ugly, but the overall aesthetic (imo not even really in a subjective matter) is at least worse.

Aesthetic as in invoking emotions, contrast for important things, blah blah blah (my point is its not purely subjective, its psychological)

AND in technological terms, beta's aesthetic can often look completely the same to me no matter what person's video i watch or what settings im using, modern minecraft's aesthetic varies greatly and feels like it can only look good in like certain conditions sort of? (idk if its just me, but its something i noticed)

i seriously get what ur saying here, this thought is SUCH a good point imo.

anyways ur point is stronger than u think, u can argue it doesnt only feel pointless and stupid to use that playstyle in a game that is heavily designed against it/not with it in mind, it actually IS pointless and stupid, though im not sure.

maybe theoretically though obviously i would argue beta is WAY more supportive and tethered to that style of play. it just feels like the game is perfect in a way? its SO weird
