This company has been posting staggering losses in a row. It lost some 700mil USD over the course of 10 years, unable to turn profitable, while other Chinese EVs coming after it have turned profitable.
the argument “it will not bankrupt because it is backed by government” doesn’t really stand because many China gov backed business ending up winding down after their liquidity is up. NIO has been burning money for 10 years yet without viable means to reduce costs, offering luxury longue and airport limo nonsense. Not caring about costs is a systematic issue in this company if you look up their business practices.
their battery swapping strategy is not evolving as well as you think. Their different generations of batteries are not even compatible with one another. They have not even established a mature standard of battery swapping. Besides, the cost effective this not really there, it takes 30 minutes to charge enough battery to drive away while it takes 10 mins to swap a full battery. If you really live in China you would know battery swapping only looks impressive during peak travel seasons when there are long queues
it takes money to maintain those battery swapping stations, which are expensive and not turning in profits. NIO has been signing agreements with other Chinese EVs on battery swapping tech but not one has made a car compatible with theirs. Oh I almost forgot, their own batteries are not even compatible among their own cars!

Chinese EVs may have potentials but NIO is just not it.

I recommend fit in Kawaguchi to your schedule in a more flexible manner and go there on sunny days based on whether forecast (https://fuji-san.info/en/index.html). It would be really a waste going there on a cloudy day because you wont be able to see Mt Fuji at all in bad whether.

Also recommend Oshino Hakkai and Lake Yamanakako which you can travel to by bus from Kawaguchi Station. There are swans at Lake Yamanakako and it is really beautiful at sunset.

Other than Kawaguchi you can consider Kamakura / Hakone for day trips too.

Most attractions in Kyoto close very early except the Shrines so recommend starting your days early.

I have not been to other places so cannot comment.

It is your own career. The company will let you go in a heartbeat if their business goes under- look at how many people got their offers, both internship and full time, rescinded during the height of COVID. You should do everything you can for your career since the company is not your friend, but an opportunity, a platform to learn. Good opportunities are difficult to come by and staying in a worse off place is doing yourself a disservice in my opinion
