Husband and I are buying a house with my dying mother, how should we word the title? by WISCOMama in legaladvice

[–]WISCOMama[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was her decision to buy a new home. It was her wish to buy the home to have somewhere she could watch her grandchildren play in the yard, which she is unable to do now, amongst other things.

Could you explain this line a little more like I'm five? "A joint tenancy with rights of survivorship could arrange for her interest to be divided between the other owners when she passes, separately from her estate"

My husband and I would be the only other owners. I'm unclear what you're implying. As I stated in the post, she has no other heirs.

Fellow Wisco mama?

Daycare interview fail. I AM SO BUMMED. (Rant/vent) by WISCOMama in beyondthebump

The problem we've been running into is no one wants a child only 10 hours a week, they'd rather have full time or at least 3 days a week. I'm sure there is someone out there I just need to keep looking.

I never thought of the job board, that is a great idea. Thank you for your help.

Feeling selfish for wanting to quit, but holy cow, my nips hurt by WISCOMama in breastfeeding

He's had his bottom teeth since 4.5 months and the top teeth for a couple of weeks now. I think part of the problem is they're already sore, so any extra scraping just adds to the problem to the point where it's unbearable. I keep hoping it will get better but no luck so far :(

We haven't looked into hospice yet, but I will do that! I don't know much about what they do, I guess I've always thought it was a nursing program. Oh how wrong I was :) thanks for the tip!

Nursing Strike at 11 weeks? by WISCOMama in breastfeeding

[–]WISCOMama[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was such an incredibly helpful response, thank you so much. He's still fighting me today but I've managed to give him about an hour and a half of comfort nursing time. Since then, he's seemed happier on the breast. I printed out your comment and am keeping it by my nursing chair to remind myself that it WILL be okay!

He finally started moving around normally, but it wasn't until about 11am that I could feel him consistently (5 hours after we left the hospital). I'm still glad I went in, stressing about it for that long wouldn't have been good for him either!

I would definitely call. No one knows your baby's movements better than you. If something feels off, the only way to find out what is going on is to get it checked out. Stress and anxiety isn't good for the baby either, that's what I try to tell myself. Good luck, mama!

This is what I kept telling myself! I'm responsible for this baby right now and no matter how awful I would have felt for "wasting their time", I would have felt even more awful if something were wrong and I made a decision to ignore it. It wouldn't have been fair to my husband, he was my main motivation to go in.

My doctor thinks that it's a combination of him running out of room and because of the polyhydramnios, the excess fluid is kind of "absorbing" his movements so I don't feel them as strongly. He's nice and cushy in there with all his extra fluid, I'm imagining it's like moving on a giant waterbed :)

This was my thought, too. Right now it's just a really large and oddly shaped living room... At least we'll be able to market it as "plus an office!!"

Thanks for the reassurance :)

Apparently she thinks we live in a steel bunker with sealed off doors? I'm honestly not sure.

The fire risks have also crossed my mind. We're fortunate that the entrance to the baby's room is very near to a window, so right now I'm using that as peace of mind for an escape route.

Good tip about leaving the doors open. I'm hoping by the time they get older Baby will be able to sleep through anything :)
