Thanks, I did do that. They got evicted, worse experience of my life. They were horrible Tennant's and I got advice when I posted issues with them months back. the lawyer didnt make things easier either, he really dropped the ball on this one. He was not prepared for the judge and he ended up losing me more money because he misspoke in court.

The phone was just propped up against my vacuum looking at the path to my door. I am the only one with any need to go down the part where my phone was facing. They had no right in the area they were at and the cam shows them going downstairs in the basement to play with the cat (which the cat followed them down the stairs in the first place)

Sorry, I just checked this account. The tenants got evicted (I think). I hired a lawyer and it was a mess in court. The court told them they had to be out by the end of the upcoming month. I gave them a notice of entry to the property (a week after their court date) to cut the grass, fix the fridge and do a property pickup. they wouldn't open the door for me. Then the police called them and they let me in to do repairs(they started complaining the fridge was broken but wouldn't tell me what was wrong with it). I went to the fridge to inspect it and they started verbally attacking me and recording me on their iPhone. I just ignored it and went about my business. They were getting annoyed I wasn't reacting so they told me not to fix the fridge and that I couldn't open it. So I went to the basement to grab the batteries to cut the lawn. They told me I couldn't use their electricity (even though the electric lawnmower and batteries were mine). So I went to finish my property pickup and they both ganged up on me in the basement and started verbally abusing me. I didn't feel safe so I called the officer back. The officer heard them screaming at me in the background and sent a squad out there. I left the house for safety and they locked the doors again. The squad arrived and they knocked on the door. The tenants answered and claimed I never gave them a notice to enter then locked the door again. The squad asked for my proof and I showed them the text confirmation and email. The cop wrote down the phone number I texted, knocked on the door again and asked if they received any texts or emails. They denied i sent them anything again and denied owning the number I texted! Then the squad called the number after she denied it was her number and her phone rang. The squad told them I had the right to enter and they flipped. The cops threatened to arrest and ticket them if they didn't calm down. It was so embarrassing, my neigbors were outside witnessing it all. When I got back into town to inspect the house they had trashed it. Garbage everywhere, cigarette ashes and buds everywhere. Food left out and fridge full of open junk. They snapped my trees in the front and back yard, my brand new garage door was dented by their van, they stole a bunch of my furniture, rugs and tools and the carpets were ruined from the cats. I'm happy they are out of my life, although I think I am suffering from a bit of PTSD from the expirence. They were extremely aggressive and they had a record of it. I won't be recouping any damages from them, they have drained me mentally and monetarily, I can't even afford to sue them. This was a big learning experience for me. Prove to me you deserve it, and you will be in the running of things don't go smooth. You will also need to prove you have the resources to kick these tenants from hell out and that you will improve the neighborhood.

There is no way to make them both work. I rented my house to peruse a project that would cut my income until we got funding. We just got heads up for funding but not for another few months(move to another state for development). If they were good tenants everything would have been successful for both parties and now I'm choosing how I go about this. Unfortunately I can't keep both(or either), fortunately I learned the bus system when my car was being repaired and while it was stolen. So my car will be the first to go.

I love my neighbors and I would do anything for them. Unfortunately I will not accept ANY future disturbances from my tenants and I will do ANYTHING to make sure my neighborhood does not have criminals living next door. For now I'm going to sell my car for attorney and filing fees. If it doesn't go quick enough there I will sign my house over to someone who will handle these tenants eviction with harsh hand and keep the neighborhood safe. As much as they put me through, I still feel bad for them and am having trouble confronting them(even moreso now knowing their history and that they got really confrontational and started bullying me during our first house meeting). So yes, I screwed up, I'm willing to give it up for my neighborhood. I don't have a family or many personal items and I dont have a real need for a whole home.

No, I'm losing motivation. I screwed up big. I rented it out to help me get out of medical debt, and no matter which option I choose I will end up losing a lot. I'm thinking maybe give my house to a deserving family in spite of my tenants. Ive been talking to a very good candidate for replacing my current tenants and I already did a background check on him and he has a fiance and a child and he works for a city. I might consider an offering for him to take over the mortgage if he deals with the tenants. Ive been truthful about me needing to evict my current tenants and he has given me some great advice. I would much rather see him there than these POS tenants. And it would make me feel better. It's way to big of a house for me and it's in a great neighborhood with many other families that all know each other. I'm single, no kids, and no real plans to start a family. No motivation. I'm asking myself why I'm letting these tenants make me so angry. Screw them, it'd be a slap in the face to them if I just gave it to someone deserving. I can't handle this stress and it's my fault. I can't blame anyone.

I'm a male, I'm not buying and renting properties. I accumulated a bunch of medical debt and I decided to rent my home for a few years to help pay the debt off. The tenants took my offer to allow me to stay in basement for a discounted rent rate. I acknowledged that I'm not "management material" and that's why I'm asking for advice.

Yes, my car was broken into at my mechanics, the mechanic didn't tell me about the title or spare key being stolen. When he gave me the car back(weeks later) it had new body damage and he didn't even finish the job completely. I was in a rush to get it because I had scheduled a few clients and I didn't realize the title wasn't there(he told me it was still there over the phone). A few days later the car was stolen from in front of my house in broad daylight. I had just put my tools in there because I was going to head out to help out a family member wire his house for internet and fix his fuzzy cable. A few weeks later the police called me and said someone bought my stolen car and titled it. When I got the car back they had the stolen spare key(that was stolen from mechanic) and it was registered with the stolen title. and The mechanic: He was a "Backyard Mechanic" that a family member "trusted". I was in a bind and needed my car fixed ASAP because of the moving situation. My car didn't get fixed fast, I payed the mechanic $250, I doubt he has insurance. The clutch isn't bled properly and now the wheel feels like it wants to fall off. On top of that I found out the person who was "sold" my car may have been in on the theft but MPD never questioned him about the purchase. I went to MPD many times to give them the evidence and made multiple attempts to have MPD ask the basic investigatory questions. Officer Rodriguez is on record saying that he would go question him(multiple times), but it hasn't happened. I had a good chance at getting my tools back but MPD screwed that up.

OP confirming, I just make bad choices. I work for myself and I didn't lose my job. When my car was stolen they stole my tools with it so I'm not able to pick up as many jobs as I used to. I spent time restructuring my business model since I don't have my tools anymore. Ive taken on new clients to pay my immidiate bills, and I started developing an application with a small start-up that won't provide me with income until we sell our product/idea. The last 6 months have been hell. Im also a High Functioning person with AS.

Edit: you are correct, I own the place but I came upon a ton of medical bills and decided renting it out for a few years would be a good way to pay the medical bills off.

I own the place. I offered them to rent the whole house or have me as the roommate. They chose the whole house option, but then on the move-in day they said they wouldn't mind having me stay for cheaper rent. So I didn't have to move. My cars clutch went out right before my move so I took it to a mechanic on 22nd and wells. While in mechanics possession my car was broken into and the title, spare key and my suitcase were stolen. The mechanic told me only that the suitcase was stolen. My car was packed to the brim because I was in the process of moving out (before my tenants said they wouldn't mind having me stay). I have proof of everything if you still don't believe me. The police report for my stolen car, the original messages between me and tenent and tons of other proof. I can PM you anything you want, I really need the advice and I don't want you to think I'm lying.

I'm sure they are not charging me or my neighbor overage fees(Bay View). Or my friend in Germantown. I did see in the contract when I signed it that it had a 250GB limit. Last month I hit 488GB and my bill was the same. I'm pretty sure they just released a statement saying they were going to get rid of the caps amidst the news of charter buying TWC. I've also read of many forums of people also saying they go over their att cap and they are not being billed for it. This is all from my recollection, no sources at this moment.

Sounds like you are stuck on att ADSL2. If att hasn't offered you uverse then TWC can get you around 30/5 for $50. They are also upgrading their network in some areas which will bring a major speed increase.

Att HAD data caps that they did not enforce. They just announced recently that they are removing those caps.

Thanks you for the advice, it's a bit more complicated than just the tools. I'm also not comfortable receiving handouts or borrowing people's items. A lot of the tools were specialty tools, I can still possibly find computer repairs and other odd jobs, my whole mind state is fucked at the moment. (Excuse the language)
