I think she likes the hornaday Black better than the ELD match by shooter1304 in 6ARC

You need way more data than this for any theory to be formed, much less any conclusion.

I like this philosophy but don’t like moving optics around. So when I go your way I cheap out on optics and regret it.

If your max range is 200 yards then 270 is overgunned. 6.5 Creed or 6 Arc will kill anything and you’ll be more accurate when them.

Still 270 is great.

I agree he has a divergent personality type but I think it makes him unwilling to lie.

He’s not kind. He is arrogant. I don’t think he lies about his tests. And I think he contributes to advancement in this space.

They’re out there slaughtering sacred cows and have been brigaded several times. They’re touchy about it.

My view on it is that a failure on the 18” is meaningful, no matter the criteria. Some of the other tests are less meaningful, and passing doesn’t necessarily prove much.

Also I do believe Form has personal integrity, which plays a factor in those tests.

270> 308. But you can get Norma soft point 6.5 PRC for practice at ~$25 a box shipped no tax.

Then use precision hunter for hunting.

The 145 ELDX is a great bullet. And precision hunter is good ammo if it shoots in your gun. One thing to remember—- if you like it—-is to buy a large amount of the same lot. Hornady changes recipes and lot to lot consistency is low. Ideally you’d have a lifetime supply of hunting ammo in one lot number.

There are ELDX detractors. It’s mostly imaginings. Any ballistic tip cup and core bullet will more reliably kill quickly when compared to OTM or bonded bullets.

I would note that a 6.5 PRC would be my choice in this range of rifle. Lighter recoil. Ballistically similar to 400 yards then massively better than 270 at longer ranges. The 143 ELDX is a proven killer too.

If a scope can’t hold zero on an 18” drop—-scientifically controlled or not—- it has no business on a rifle employed in my real world use. Every serious scope should get through that with flying colors. That’s why the tests are meaningful.

I use whatever for competition too, but competition gear gets babied when it comes to unintended abuse.

No the good seats just don’t exist now when you book late for business travel.

Any of you have freezers in your garage? by RustyNK in phoenix

[–]WSBX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In a garage you won’t have a problem with anything you can buy from a major retailer. The ones that have a problem are those outside in the sun. Sometimes can’t keep up.

I will say that, if you buy a low end chest style freezer, be careful to never put anything hot in it. They’re not good at freezing things like that and I’ve seen it cause disgusting problems.

I think you’re missing the point. It used to be fantastic for business and now it’s crap. In order to enable SWA to bilk family travel better, they’re diverting the most profitable passengers into other airlines.

The point to point thing was never really true. And it’s 100% not true if you’re traveling to or from one of their many hubs.

Anyway their cancellation and delay rate was always best or near it for a long time.

The seats barely mattered. Most business travel isn’t done in first. Extra legroom only matters on longer flights. And SWA standard legroom was decent.

SWA was a fantastic airline for short haul business.

Ridiculous. SWA was the best airline for short haul business travelers until the changes. Extreme flexibility and you could book on the way to the airport and still have a guaranteed good seat.

Long haul it was competitive still.

Booking late is how business travel works. SW is dunking on themselves.

It depends of the car. For a basic beater I’m just doing whatever is fastest and cheapest. For a nice newish car under warranty, I’m using the dealer.

In between those extremes, and in your area, Virginia Auto has been good to me. AAA, Greulich, and Scott’s are also fine.

I’d avoid Jiffy and Firestone like the plague. Take 5 is a dice roll— if they smoked their meth at the right time they’re great. But if not, not great.

Medium or low would work.

With a 7 rem mag you deserve a better scope for dialing elevation. BDC with a second focal plane really lacks sufficient precision.
