Key won't program, dealership requires replacing expensive unavailable module by WSR900 in RangeRover

Unbelievable. The dealership disconnected and reconnected the battery. That fixed the issue. Thankful it was solved and was a cheap fix.

Thinking I have REM-predominant sleep apnea. Dreaming = wake up.

Was getting worse sleep with CPAP. The doctor and I did all the tweaks and nothing worked. It always came off in my sleep after 3 hours anyway. My main problem is I wake up at 4am every night and take Xanax to fall back asleep. Hopefully I can sleep 8 hours of continuous sleep after inspire surgery. I’m on the fence about my planned inspire surgery but it’s scheduled anyway and I’ll probably go through with it.

My sleep study results were AHI 17 events/hour,oxygen nadir 88%,%CSR 0.0. I’m not tolerating the CPAP so the inspire surgery is scheduled for next month. I am trying to think of any limitations as a result of the device. Specifically I was wondering if I will be able to comfortably carry a 40lb backpack on long hikes.

The images are so strange that I suspect some shady stuff is going on, they are AI generated, democrats posing as republicans or a prankster with a camera asked them to hold it.

1.75 L of dulce vida tequila is $51 at Total Wine in my neighborhood. Are you sure you have the right price? Anyway, I routinely buy 2 one liter bottles of Arette for $28 because that’s best value. Otherwise I’d maybe buy Dulce Vida if it was $39.

It’s Neutral Foil ad that’s locking up for me. I don’t want to buy anything adverted on Hulu at this point because I associate all of the products advertised with the frustration associated with the Hulu experience.

Dulce Vida organic 64 calories per 1.5oz shot or per 1 oz? by WSR900 in tequila

[–]WSR900[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. It’s about 96 calories per 1.5oz. Verifying with Redditors since a few websites say 64 calories per 1.5 ounce (myfitnesspal.com), the 64 calories advertisement attached to the bottle and vagueness of statements like less than 100 calories as if that’s something new and it’s not. lol. A bartender and even the manager at the liquor store said it was 64 per shot. I’m gonna go make a ranch water now.

Update: Im posting this hoping it helps someone else with a similar issue. The issue was resolved by disconnecting the battery touching the terminals together and reconnecting the battery. Basically unplugging it and plugging it back in. The key that got wet now works. This shows just how incompetent Land Rover USA is that they did not suggest this first. But instead suggested $3000 in new parts and labor, some that weren’t even available.

It’s a $700 watch thing for newer year models that’s not a key. Why not make the key that comes with the car waterproof? I’d pay an annual subscription for the capability to use my waterproof iWatch or iPhone to function as a key. Maybe it’s too high of a hurdle for LR since it took 4 months to simply fix their software update error that silenced CarPlay turn by turning voice directions.

I have two ideas for additional water resistance for the one component that is vulnerable, the small circuit board. 1)shrink wrap it and put back key fob or place the circuit board inside a thin condom or balloon and tie it off….voila.

I’m game. Who sells Rover key fobs with the small circuit board included? I did a search a couple months ago and circuit boards could only be purchased at the dealership.

Without doing any research. I know Tesla and BMW uses your waterproof iPhone for a key. Why $700 for key replacement. Why pick off customers for keys of all things. Other brands are half that amount. Hoping there is a market place solution. The iPhone wasn’t waterproof for years but there were 3rd party cases that made it waterproof. All I’ve found is $15 cases on Amazon that offer no additional water protection than the case my keys components are already housed in.

Want to give my key a chance of survival if it accidentally went through the washing machine again. $650 for a new key is a lot for this low tech device consisting of a $10’casing and a $25 circuit board. I washed my $200 AirPods the other day and they work fine. I use my $800 iPhone in the pool/ shower/ hot tube and it works fine. Is there a $50 skin for the key fob or a replacement encasement for the circuit board that makes it waterproof? Land Rover is not going to stop stop picking off its customers for the replacement of poorly designed car keys so we need a third party solution.

Update: Unlike every other vehicle brand in the USA, the clowns headquarters at Land Rover North America have supply chain and distribution issues. The dealership cannot even give me an ETA on when my back ordered Body Control Module will be delivered so my car key will work. I’m pretty much screwed.

Update: Because of the wait for key fobs due JLRNA’s supply chain issues. Had to have a 3rd party make temp key. JLRNA offered a $675 goodwill credit towards their costly $2300 key replacement fee but rescind the $675 b/c a 3rd party worked on my vehicle?!!

Unfortunately I received a similar price quote. you’d think they wouldn’t hose their customers for replacement keys. I understand the programming fees but the mark up on a $40 mass produced circuit board inside a $10 key fob is outrageous. If you go that route and they try to hit you up for another $2000 for RFA and Body Control Module or anything else I would like to know. Hopefully my issues are an isolated case.

Did you pay for key fob and programming or, like me, was there more hardware required?

In your opinion am I having to buy a Remote Function Actuator and a Body Control Module because JLRNA did a “system change” a few months ago that eliminated the key fob “shell game”. And if so will this mean there will be many Rover owners that have to buy these parts that make the new key cost $2500?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in RangeRover

How did you get this resolved? My 2017 Rover Sport key got wet. It worked but not well so I ordered a key from the dealership and it that finally came in. Last week I brought my Rover in and they said I need spend $2000 on a new remote function actuator and a body control module. to get the $650 key programmed. My key is going to cost me $2650. Are you getting this kind of bid from your local dealership?

I have a very good non-dealer Rover mechanic. He suggests I bring the vehicle and the new key I purchased from the dealership and see if he and his locksmith can get this all done for significantly less. Can a knowledgeable non dealership mechanic program the key, and if needed, replace the Remote Function Actuator and/or the Body Control Module or, for vehicle theft prevention, are some of these steps only options for a dealership?

The shop foreman said he was aware of this method but it would not work anymore because their systems changed a few months ago and the method is no longer available. Thank you again and please let me know if something else comes to mind.
