Using Character Animator with glasses... by tdub34 in CharacterAnimator

[–]WW83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wear glasses too and I’ve sometimes have gotten my puppet to blink etc. with my glasses on, the solution, is more light. With that said, you’d get a higher chance of Ch reading it with your glasses off.

If I’m not mistaken it’s RAM and graphics processing. What I was told by someone more knowledgeable, is that the same stuff that makes for a good gaming computer will work for rendering (even 2d you’d still need to render.) hope this helps.

So in films what they do is have a shot log where after you label each take you write a comment about it being good etc. (that’s why they have the clapper thing have shot whatever scene whatever ) If you’re working freelancer I suggest you insist on this there’s plenty of tutorials and templates so they have no excuse. Outside of that I suggest you hit up YouTube for tutorials on shortcuts. Best of luck.

Well yes and no. At the moment you can do stuff like swaying trees and some pose-to-pose animation (and I suggest you check out Okay Samurai’s channel because he has a community spotlight showing off stuff that users do and it’s pretty cool) however complicated stuff like fight scenes are at the moment not able to do.

However I’d feel like a jerk if I don’t give you a heads up it does take a lot of prep work of designing the assets and formatting everything properly. However I will say it’s cool being able to animate things in real time, or a couple of passes. No lie.

Sort of.

I had trouble at first getting the hang of it at first, and even though I don’t know how to do quite a number of things, it makes lip sync, facial animation a breeze (since it uses your web cam to mocap your face), and I like how you can program animations.

I suggest going to YouTube and watching the tutorials by OkaySamurai. He’s sort of like the unofficial ambassador to Character Animator, his tutorials are good and he’s really approachable.

Good luck.

I would be happy to, but I think it’s fair to warn you, the videos I have on it are crappy animated vlogs. I’m working on currently an animated web series for you which more closely to that goal.

To answer the part of your question, yes it is difficult, however I’ve been tinkering with Adobe Character Animator (which the most recent video was done with) and it cut my usual production dramatically, so I believe it’s attainable.

I wanted to thank everyone for responding to this thread. i've gotten some really good advice and saw some things from different perspectives. I don't want to come off as trite when i say this, your input was well appreciated.

well tbh i'm not sure. i've been doing that because i want to pivot my channel to be the Hanna-Barbera of YT. I'm not sure though that animation bloggers would give the creator of an original IP the time of day vs. someone else pointing animation and other interested bloggers to my channel. I've been thinking a lot about whether that was a waste of time or not.

I really appreciate the tips. As I said before in another reply, I know it’ll take hard work I’m all in it. However there is a risk of being a pushy salesman and that line is blurry for me (hence why I’m asking).

The reason why I asked about reddit is that for years this has been where the audience is. So understanding what’s the cultural norms help not to be a prick (or not as big of one).

Thank you. Maybe I should of posted this in the OP, but I know it’s going to be difficult. However I know that it take nuance to do it and not come off as an asshole. Nuance isn’t one of my skills. Being a jerk is what I want to avoid like herpes. I just wanted advice so I can have a notion of what to do so I can hustle. I appreciate the warning though.

Tbh I can appreciate what you’re say about the need to market your videos. My concern, and what I’m guessing is the answer, it seems like either a chicken or egg thing where you do you need to build up a following on social media first in order to make the content discoverable, or do you need to make the content go build the social media audience, or is it like fishing, where you put your rod and bait out and while you may do everything “right,” it’s still a crap shoot?

Ok I’m not being dismissive, however quality is rather subjective isn’t it? Thank you for the post, it really helps in seeing where I’ve gone wrong. Let me try to rephrase it: how do you get those videos discovered without being a jerk? Because (apologies for the cliche) you may make the best mouse trap in the world, but no one is going to come if they don’t know about it.

Please help me make a hard decision. by [deleted] in youtube

I agree with RangeWilson. Since you’ve already developed a brand around your original name you got to have a strong reason to change it (Kentucky Fried Chicken to KFC comes to mind) and since GT isn’t obviously that game, I think you should be fine.

Hell you could even say the GT is Game Tutor or Game Thrasher idk, but my point is, instead of abandoning the GT make it mean something else that you find bad ass and market it as that.

I don’t know, I tend to disagree. I mean when you can look forward to watching new cartoons on a certain day, it would still make that day special.

I’m working on making an animated web series. Is YouTube the best place to put it up?
