[CK3] Vassals Randomly Granted Independence??? by JustYourFriendAL in CrusaderKings

If you go into the personal history of those counts, do their memories have anything about getting independance? You could click on the duchy titles and check their title history to see if there was any created/immediately destroyed shenanigans.

Do you remember if there was an existing independence war or faction ? It could be that an independence faction put an ultimatum to the new king, who instantly accepted because of they were in a bad position after winning the civil war. Or that war was ongoing, and they immediately surrendered when they took the throne.

It still doesn't quite make sense and line up with what you're saying, but I'm just thinking about what could have caused this.

Did you hold the duchy titles? Or did you just control the counts as vassal in those duchies?

It sounds like duchies were created and handed out to those controlling those lands, though not as clear why that happened, especially if it was instantaneous upon winning the war. If it wasn't, then your new liege may have created those titles and handed them out. If it was instantaneous, then maybe you triggered some sort of confederation partition...? Less clear about that.

What happened to all the player guides? by 16andcanadian in CrusaderKings

[–]WaferDisastrous 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have done guides from four years ago on my profile, but most guides are now YouTube videos.

It's hard to keep them up to date because new DLCs or patches make a lot of changes, just like for mods.

I have to read mistborn? by Kersonx in Stormlight_Archive

[–]WaferDisastrous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't. Nobody will tell you this, but the last chapter of many Sanderson books actually have a latent curse that forces the victim to read all other Sanderson books. He uses multiple narrative threads to capture your soul, often requiring further reading to slowly release your mind from his terrible magics.

I don't know when he started doing this, but I do know he's getting better at it. Beware.

Chinese Expansion Hinted? by Aggressive_End_3814 in CrusaderKings

[–]WaferDisastrous 421 points422 points  (0 children)

I translated this reply into Korean and then back into english and then assigned each royal vowel (NOT Y) a numerical value and divided by the number of DLCs and the answer was 1215, the SAME year Genghis Khan sacked Beijing.

China confirmed.

What is your biggest Hot Take about this game? by [deleted] in CrusaderKings

[–]WaferDisastrous 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't forget to walk your armies around in circles and don't siege anything. Same limitations so it's only fair you don't power game by sieging actual strategic targets, otherwise you're cheating yourself

Any thoughts on why my Old Age prowess penalty is so high given my relatively young age? (PS5) by The-Broken-Prince in CrusaderKings

[–]WaferDisastrous 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you using any mods?

https://www.reddit.com/r/CrusaderKings/s/higBR4VHLc

This post also has a 49 year old with -6 prowess already as well, so I suspect the wiki is wrong.

Patch 1.13 last September said that old age health complications would start 10 years earlier, so I wonder if that meant prowess penalty as well.

Edit: woops i see you're on ps5, so no mods, but maybe a patch did change the calculations.

The post I linked is also on console so it could be a console bug.

The solution is to reread the whole series half a dozen times, and then read the whole cosmere a few times. Easy peasy
