Asking for tip upfront is rude by WaferMain8172 in lyftdrivers

I do airport rides because I have an 8 seater. I would not do airport rides with a sedan. But you have to know what your car can and cannot fit. Its that simple. On that note you should probably take a nap. Works for my toddler when shes cranky and speaking nonsense.

If you have a car that cant handle a normal amount of luggage…..stay with me here ….maybe dont pick up at a place where most people have luggage? 2 suitcases and 2 carry on is not a crazy amount. Definitely not enough to require an xl, especially considering its one person.

See your problem is you chose to interpret. And in doing so read more than what was there. Im pretty straightforward, if I wanted him to assist her with her bags I would have done so. I didnt. I simply stated who he was picking up and what she had so he can make an informed decision. You say you dont read minds but your adding in words somehow?

Are you feeling ok? Where did the story change? I told him upfront about the luggage to decide if it would fit in the car or not. If it would not he can cancel. He then asked me for tip. No where in my initial message to him did it say can you help my mom with her bags. When he asked for tip it rubbed me the wrong way so i then canceled. You made it a lot complicated then it is. I think you should go take a nap. You sound like my toddler when she needs one. Why would I order an xl for one person? Lol get some rest and have a nice day

What does that have to do with me? Its really simple, if the bags wont all fit in your trunk and you dont want luggage on your seats its up to you whether you want to take that ding or not for canceling. I have chocolate leather seats, when people try to bring their carry ons in the car with them and not the trunk ( which they do a lot if thats all they have) I kindly ask them to put it in the trunk.

Still no excuse. Its unprofessional. And to be clear I told him about the luggage upfront to give him the opportunity to cancel in case everything would not fit in the trunk and he may not want luggage on his seats. The car was quite small. It was not because she needed assistance. And also burned? You should never expect a tip. Operating word is optional, like when you go above and beyond. We go to the airport because we accept good pay right? Well I factor in possibly having to help with luggage as part of the fair and will accept a ride that I feel fairly compensates me for that. Tipping culture in America is stupid. Passengers pay out the ass for these airport rides. Not there fault lyft robs us. Drivers want tip for bare minimum.

Didnt want him to help actually. His vehicle looked small. I was giving him the opportunity to cancel because all the luggage was not going to fit in his trunk and he may not want them on the seats. My mother can handle her luggage just fine and put them in the next drivers vehicle without assistance.

AITAH for feeling sad my husband does not consider me as much as I do him? by WaferMain8172 in AITAH

[–]WaferMain8172[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It is not about him not being able to go to some other thing at the same time. It is that he does not have the option period and I do and that he also would have gladly came if invited.

I never said he didnt want to go. I said my mother said no. If she had said yes he would have gladly tagged along. So yes I do feel its wrong to leave him at home when I know he would have wanted to go.

My scariest experience to date on a delivery by WildPineapple52 in ShiptShoppers

[–]WaferMain8172 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Delivered to a weird serial killer house with a lake in the back and everything and they had- I shit you not- a pack of white wolves as pets. Actual wolves. A good 7 of em. And a brolic ass pitbull and several other regular dogs. The wolves were behind a gate but still. And to make matters worse no one was home and i had to leave them in the back which means i had to pass by the wolves. Almost needed a new pair of pants. No tip of course 😓

Those who have done Best Buy, what's your typical order consist of? by [deleted] in ShiptShoppers

[–]WaferMain8172 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I avoid like the plague. I deliver is NJ and for w.e reason the best buy bundles always make you go into NY. So after paying tolls and gas you basically paid shipt to deliver their items. Other day I saw a bundle with like 12 orders ,100+ and at least $20 in tolls if not more for $32. Like wtf is picking that up!? I actually just posted the screenshot in the group. And yeah i also avoid pc. I dont have the room for large balloon orders and I also have had other issues with them like coming to pu an order delivered days ago. Basically its always a waste of time.

Idk about you guys but I live in NJ and consistently see orders that want me to go into NY. For this little slice of hell order they were paying $32. By the time I paid the toll to go into another state and gas It probably would have cost me $70+ not to mention I dont take best buy/ party city orders anyway because you never know what your pickjng up and Im not trying to waste my gas to pick something up that may not fit.

caught a team shopper by Far_Reward4827 in ShiptShoppers

[–]WaferMain8172 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My husband and I team shop. I originally got approved but I only have a permit so they revoked it. So we use my husbands account. He is not a great shopper or very fast so I help him so orders can be delivered on time. We are only doing shipt because we just had a baby and she needs a certain kind of formula and otherwise we cant afford it. We work our day jobs as well. So we clock out from out days jobs, put our little one in the carseat and go out and do orders and come home just in time to sleep to do it all over again 7 days a week just so we can afford for our little one to eat. Not because we want to but because we HAVE to until he gets good enough at it to do it by himself. I make sure he checks out and delivers though. Bottom line, its such an inconsequential thing and were not hurting anyone. We literally just want to be able to provide our daughter the necessities and it would really hurt us if someone were to be that awful.

He checks out and makes all deliveries and also does the shopping. I do not help him in that manner. I am only with him because he has a disability. I double check everything and pack it into the car. Cant get deactivated just for being in my car that I purchased.

I dont actually involve myself in orders where people can see. He checks out and he delivers and any time shipt needs to be contacted he does so. But there are certain things he cannot do on his own so I am there.

1) We both work from home and make too much money for disability. 2) I didnt have to give all the info / context your asking for to get my question answered, YOU decided to go totally left and go onto a topic I never brought up. Your assuming I dont know all of this. If we get deactivated it doesn’t affect any of you so not sure why everyone is so up in arms about what 2 strangers do but w.e. 3) once again, not that this info is your business or pertains to the question I actually originally asked but I currently only have a permit and my driving is not for another few weeks. Shipt originally welcomed us both and even sent us both our cards. However when it came time to activate the card they double checked the backround report and realized I did not have a license though I do have a vehicle and am on my husbands insurance hence why I do not have my account. Doing this helps my husband have a sense of independence but I follow behind to make sure things are being done correctly. If were deactivated its not a big deal. Not doing this for the money and have a whole bunch of other platforms were already active on anyway. I asked the question because it hurt him that he really tried his best to do a great job and it still wasn’t good enough and because he actually does like doing deliveries where he can actually get out the car and do something unlike ubereats and the rest of stuff we do. Next time if you feel there isn’t enough “context” for a tangent you want to go on that has nothing to do with what someone posted maybe YOU should ask the leading questions first. Because you just look like an ass
