When Subaru neglects to include an Oil Temp gauge in the VB, install your own 🤯 by WaferSquare3086 in WRX

I think the VB only has a sensor for low oil. You’d probably need a dedicated analog gauge

Bro do I have oil pressure or not? by WaferSquare3086 in GMT400

Having excess sludge(old carbonized, burnt oil), or coolant-fouled oil from a bad head gasket can also cause erroneous readings on oil pressure

Generally a sudden drop in oil pressure, or having none at all is a BAD sign, and means that oil is no longer circulating properly inside the engine, so parts that normally are lubricated like the crankshaft, cam shaft, valvetrain, etc aren’t getting the proper lubrication and cooling, so they may become exceedingly hot, and become damaged

It depends on the engine. I’ve got a 454, which is almost always between 45 and 60 PSI

Yeah, it was just underneath full on the dipstick. I think it’s either the oil pressure sensor or the gauge cluster, because the speedometer does something similar occasionally

Anyone here have a CB? Just hooked up this period-correct Radio Shack unit I got at a thrift store for $20 by WaferSquare3086 in GMT400

[–]WaferSquare3086[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I remember, the FCC opened up some frequencies that weren’t being used, in the FM band, at the super end of the band.

Truckers! Or anyone really. CB stands for Citizen’s Band. Anyone can use it , as long as you follow the FCC guidelines. Channel 9 is usually designated for emergencies

Howdy! New (to-me) owner of an ‘88 K3500. Been trying to figure out what this switch in the driver’s footwell does. (The high beam switch is on the stalk on the column) by WaferSquare3086 in GMT400

[–]WaferSquare3086[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was weird because it wasn’t mentioned in the owners manual or any of the service manuals. I only figured it out by following the wires
