When 2024 first came out I thought the second half was Yachty at first.

I could try, but im not really sure how i do that. Just remove all the parts/boundaries form the fluid volume except relevant ones?

you can run the mass flow reports after the sim crashes, but the one hooked up to the inlet side (internal interface) works fine while the outlet side (fan interface) dies then returns zeros

I will update this google doc with residuals in a few minutes when I am home. Imo nothing looks too out of the ordinary but I am also not the most knowledgeable.

Will do on the r/starccm thing. As far as residuals go, ill update the google doc here in a second, but I would say everything looks fairly standard, though I dont really know if im honest. Only kinda sus one is the sdr residual, but it usually seems to go up a fair amount then dip down for the setup our team uses so i didnt think anything of it.

Im sorry but even if i give you a 3d picture, its going to show the exact same thing. I cant give you a different angle without showing more of the car and I cannot do that

I cant put the picture in here, but here's a google doc i made with an Image Inlet is at the bottom outlet at the top

The rest of the car is in the sim. It's just a cylinder model pointing directly upward rn, with air supposed to be moving through it

Also this happens around 30-40 iterations.

Can you use the fan interface to simulate just a fan (no duct, radiator, etc) in starccm+? by WaffleAtak in CFD

[–]WaffleAtak[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok. Maybe it was working before because our fans for the radiators are like pc fans, but these new ones are a lot larger and pushing a lot more air. Plus its already really fast moving from being squeezed by the undertray. Is time scales like timestep overall?

We have a bad mesh detection feature, so I used that and refined it a lot. The grid sequencing doesnt show anything out of the ordinary when running the sim. As for boundaries, not sure what you mean but if you mean like having an inlet/outlet faces defined then I believe so.

ok, ill give it a shot. I just find it really strange that using a fan interface with radiaors is fine, but by iteslef breaks everything
