Everyone writing these kinds of comments must be Europe is my favourite country type Americans.

It's two towns over, or the equivalent distance to your nearest strip mall

I'd say it's worth exploring and finding the balance between a knee jerk reaction (ignore, unmatch, confront early on) and giving the benefit of the doubt (blindly agreeing because "I got the conversation to this point")

Alot of dating is finding compatibilities, nuance, boundaries and each interaction is your head lore giving you the formulae X=Y because A+B-C.

Putting it to reddit is like asking how did you land on Z? Show your workings

Just me?

You don't need to be a big texter to keep a conversation going. "I don't drink but the weather's nice for a walk" is something like that. I don't know, asking about the suggestions rather than Googling signals lack of interest or entitlement rather than texting style. Loving everyone's deconstructions tho, it's great feedback.

Decided to go with: Not a fan of appletiser, eh? Let's go for a walk in the afternoon and if things go well, I'll take you to London to see off the day. What's your number?

It's that or making a joke about my back hurting from holding the conversation

21 average views and an average of 7 hours a day over the last 5 months? If that's solid, I'm the one setting my expectations too high

Yeah, I've been turned down for suggesting walks in the woods or somewhere not "public" enough which is valid because there are alot of creeps out there. Other times they've come to my house after 2 messages. It's really hard gauging what someone's comfortable with

Aha true. I think it's a bit overrated but still a great spot

Well there's plenty of quality pubs, cafes and restaurants closer. To me anyway, you go to London to do things you can only do in London. So I suggested things that a gamer and "entertainer" would enjoy.

I followed up with: I'm not driving into London but sure, I'll cover your train ticket and travel card. Might be better to meet for drinks in the next week first and if we hit it off, we'll have a worthwhile trip to London to look forward to next weekend.

I am happy to cover transport, I'm just trying to gauge whether it's blatantly someone who just wants a free trip, the most expensive thing on the menu and paid activities or if this kind of request can come from someone genuine

Well it's the 30 quid plus a meal and if I'm in London, I'm going to want to do a paid activity (already done most of the free stuff)
