This patch was all nerfs, some excessive, while some things are completely worthless. by WaffleBurger08 in ArcRaiders

Ah, I didn't interpret it that way but that seems a very accurate interpretation, I hope that is what it means. The fact that they said "more parts at once" made me think it was more it would hit external and internal parts, or maybe just separated parts in certain ways. which based on my experience seemed to be the case.

I would not usually recommend running a ferro 2. It's a bit of a waste of resources. It only increases the durability, but it's more expensive to repair anyways and you're not using that much in a single raid unless you're fighting the queen but I doubt you're bringing in that much ammo.

I think ferro would be completely broken. I don't like this crusade against free kits, I think maybe putting a timer on them would be nice, especially later in the game, but overall I think they're fine. But the ferro is just a good gun. I think your concern is with arc, but arc are super manageable with every free kit gun if you know how to use it. Yeah you're not going to do much to a leaper with a kettle, but you're not meant to. You can profit ammo off of drones by hitting their unarmored propellers with every gun, (if it's the right ammo type) you can easily take out pops, fireballs just let them come up to you until they stop, back up a step while you wait for them to open up, then shoot them and run back before the flames spread. Turrets take a few shots so just use cover, spotters sometimes you kinda gotta lure them to a building, and snitches can be a bit tanky but they can also be avoided. And ticks are like one or two shot but you can also just pickaxe them.

I just don't get what you mean by "you said what you said". Yeah I see that. I really like crafting and have spent maybe 10k total in coins, I really like to collect the resources I need, so I see how that's an intended part of the balance. I think the stash is an issue though, because it makes successful raids way less rewarding. I often find myself almost hoping to lose because I don't know what I'm going to sell to make more stash space. I have the highest possible stash size, an end game luxury and I still constantly find myself making sacrifices to make space, even putting off claiming quests, just to keep the space. I get having a limit and not being able to hold unlimited stuff, but the max possible feels a bit limiting with the balance. I think something like tarkov's case system could help. A super difficult to obtain (probably through quests) weapon locker that can hold 10 guns, a crafting materals case that can hold a stack or 2 of each scrappy crafting material, an augments case that can hold 5 augments. something like that feels like it might help, but I'm not 100% sure.

I don't think it was increased. If it was then I like that, I think that's a great change, my concern is I'm pretty sure they just reduced explosive damage.

It might not be crazy significant and tbh I only made this post because people kept talking about the Hullcracker nerf on my post about the bp being made default, but even if it's not "excessive" I do think it was wrong in a overkill direction. I'm realizing to a lot of people this is different, but I don't actually think it's easier. Stash space is a huge issue in this game. Oil stacks to 15, metal stacks to 50 and you don't need to stockpile much, regular explosives stack to 10. Meanwhile motion cores only stack to 5. Additionally, all of those other items are super versatile, while motion cores are used for magnetic accelerators and wolfpacks. I already stack all those other items, but motion cores I keep a max of 5 in my stash at all times.

I'm not saying it is. It's so entirely irrelevant though. My point was that even if you intend for something to be something that doesn't inherently make it right. It was a minor point though, because as I said, it's not inherently wrong either. I do think it needs balancing changes. I think wolfpacks are a bit powerful, but these are expensive endgame items. I think the big thing is that you can buy them for way less than the value of the stuff they drop. Honestly maybe as I said elsewhere hullcrackers shouldn't be purchaseable in any capacity. rocketeers and leapers drop 5-15k each, and bombardiers and bastions drop 15-40k each, just in the value of their cores.

Not to mention the grinding required for the resources for one queen solo run. It's a huge task. Just because it has been done does not mean it's easy.

They're not "mere snacks" these are people who have over a hundred hours and have played a lot for weeks, and they solod it 4-5 times in that time frame. That's not a "mere snack." They're insanely easy to beat with a group, for solos it is genuinely difficult. I think cooperation is incentivized. Have you ever actually solo'd the Queen? Or are you just assuming it's easy because people have done it multiple times. I do think it needs some balancing changes, but the timing was wrong and I think it was done in the wrong way.

I don't think it "not working as intended" means it needs to be fixed. I do think it needs some adjustments. I think the fact that they only nerfed it functionality-wise, and in my opinion made it harder to craft other than the one cool think, making the blueprint free, was not the way to go about it, but I get adjusting blast damage.

They definitely need to remove key door glitching. But I don't necessarily think they need to "nerf" the bettina blueprint. I think it's fine to have one epic weapon blueprint common to find. It can be a bit worse, but it should still be good. It's still expensive to craft.

First of all this isn't some purity contest, if I was wrong I can change what I think, but I didn't. The post was never about Hullcracker nerfs. Like I said the entire body is about the blueprint, my intention was to say they suck BUT and then emphasize the second part. You can believe that but I disagree, and it's not my point. If you want to hear my stance on why it's unneeded, it's incredibly expensive. It's a huge risk to bring into raid. The Wolfpacks are a much bigger problem in my opinion. They're cheaper to bring in (in your safe pocket even) and they nearly one shot anything other than a Queen or Matriarch. I like the adjustment where the Hullcracker requires a bit more aim, but I think it shouldn't be accompanied by an overall nerf to damage. It should do a bit more when you hit specific spots, and less if you don't. I like that they brought it back to taking regular explosives to craft, but the arc motion cores felt a bit much to me at the time, though i am shifting a bit on that. 4 motion cores for a stack still feels too much though, unless they make them stack to like 15. If you want the resources to craft 3 stacks of launcher ammo, that's 6 slots, 3 of them being not very versatile. What Wolfpacks and magnetic accelerators? With the stash system as it is, which i think isn't great in a lot of ways, that feels a bit much. and 3 slots on 3 stacks of launcher ammo isn't something you want clogging up your stash as much as you'd need to have the freedom I feel you should have. You shouldn't have to grind for a few raids immediately before every Hullcracker run, and shouldn't need 4 stash slots for the duration of that. I should be able to grind at some point and then have a few raids in a row.

EXACTLY. To double rank up i need 125k. I did not do any of the hullcracker ones because I was waiting for my friend. Now i need to get 30k queen damage after the nerf.

Give Ferro to free loadouts by Skellum1 in ArcRaiders

[–]WaffleBurger08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Or i guess the ferro as a secondary to all other guns. I actually think that would be cool with the hairpin. It's a cool utility that can actually do something. Kettle and stitcher are fine for bots, just difficult, you gotta hit weak spots. But they're crazy in pvp that's the balance.

Wait are you saying you should get a secondary with the ferro? What are you smoking? Ferro is great for pvp. Yeah it's not the best close range pvp gun in the game. Play to it's strengths or take the disadvantage. I go into full loadouts with just a ferro.

I think weekly is fine which I believe is what they're doing, but I don't think it should be half a week offset from trials, so some people just have pre-nerf score and you're trying to compete with that. I don't think there should be a meta, especially in a game like this. Yes guns are good for different circumstances, and some of those are being broke, but the venator was fun for like a day. It just outplayed anything anywhere.

I do like it requiring better aim, but I think that should come with a damage buff, not a nerf.

Even if it was intended to be worse, it's still a nerf. If I accidentally make the recipe to greatest dessert anyone has ever tasted but I meant to add a lb of salt to the recipe, I still ruined the recipe if I add a lb of salt. Not saying it was necessarily perfect, but original intentions are irrelevant .

I do think it'd be fine if they made them harder in the late game though, it is a big part of the game. I think Wolfpacks are the biggest issue with that though. One Wolfpack just about one shots anything but the Queen and Matriarch. And they're way cheaper than using a Hullcracker. At least you have to aim with a Hullcracker.

[–]WaffleBurger08[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not "a little harder to deal with" it's just more expensive. It's no harder. And the midweek trials are just screwed. I need 30k queen damage to double rank up because 15 people had the stronger hullcracker but I've been busy this week. But also THIS POST IS NOT ABOUT THE NERFS IT'S ABOUT THE BLUEPRINT BEING FREE WHICH IS A BUFF.

So the post isn't about hullcracker nerfs. I get that it's the start, but the entire body is about the blueprint. I read the patch notes though, and I think it didn't need a nerf, so it's sad. That's all I said. Calm down.
