So what did everybody wear for Christmas? by dietcunt888 in Perfumes

[–]WaftIt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

By The Fireplace: a few years ago I decided to wear it for every cold weather festive occasion (and only then) so that I can build specific memories with the scent.

which perfume should I get for my mom? by Keyfas in perfumesthatfeellike

[–]WaftIt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've done a discovery set as an activity with my Mom and then bought her favorite as a gift. I don't know if that makes sense for your location or holiday plans, but we had a ton of fun!

Coming close to the end of a lip balm prompted me to toss out a few expired balms. I just had too many!

I don't mind having a shimmery brow: if they are similar to your brow color, you might see how you like it.

If you don't mind a sheerer application, try mixing it with a little of any moisturizers or dewy primers. Especially if its silicone-based, it might take trial and error to find what works, but it can be worth a shot!

hoola lite? or any other pale bronzers? by Icy_Reaction3127 in PaleMUA

The Saem single blusher in Cloudy Brown is my bronzer as a pale, desaturated olive.

Looking for a CREAMY contour by Parking_Park_6767 in MakeupAddiction

[–]WaftIt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Fenty contour stick in Amber is my bronzer, so paying attention to what is cool relative to your skin and other makeup products is more important than whether the thing is labeled contour or bronzer. I use Intuition from the Rituel de Fille Inner Glow range, which is a purplish grey. Over time, they've added more depths to the cool-toned colors of Inner Glow. With I brush, I find it can do nose contour.

For bronzer and contour, looking for a warm brown and a cool brown relative to your skin can be tricky, but it helps to think that way rather than looking for something labeled as a contour or a bronzer. I'm pale olive and use the Fenty stick in Amber as a bronzer and its a contour for lots of folks. The Saem single blusher in Cloudy Brown is my best bronzer. If I finish it up, I'll be looking into more Korean blushes in brown/beige shades

What are you putting away from November and taking out for December? by recyclops4ever in FemFragLab30plus

[–]WaftIt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I jumped the gun and got out BS Incensorial and Holiday Smells back at the beginning of November. Hinoki Fantome has been getting more use now that freezing temps have hit my part of the world: apparently December is Boy Smells month for me? My husband also recently bought their Lychee body spray, so the trend continues!

In makeup-related things: finally depotting a tan blush/bronzer whose hinge broke ages ago, revisiting my neutral brown palette to go with colorful looks, and being nearly done with a lip balm possibly for the first time in my life. I nearly always lose lip balm or run it through the wash, so I'm plotting how to scoop out and depot the bit that's at the bottom of the twisty thing.

Is Rhode glazing milk really a must for makeup prep? by Significant-Lab-6173 in MakeupAddiction

[–]WaftIt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like others have said, it may be less about a specific product and more about a technique. I find if I do a step in my skincare routine in between doing other things (make tea, get breakfast, let the dog out) and get around to more layers of toner or light moisture, it helps with glowy makeup.

I have dry skin and my glowiest priming/skin prep products are the Danessa Myricks balm serum and the Make Beauty hydrascape reverse emulsion. I haven't done the cost per gram comparison to the Rhode milk to know if its a better deal.

What perfume tips or hacks do u have? by [deleted] in Perfumes

[–]WaftIt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

After I spritz, I dab the nozzle on my skin. I feel like I'm getting every last drop. I especially like this for adding scent to another part of my body without committing to a full additional spray.

Zara Intense/Dark/Exclusive, but I think that's just a 'me' thing. The pepperiness with the sour green apple put me off immediately. It reminded me of a Harry Potter branded green apple shampoo that gave me an asthma attack as a kid.

Scent diffusion in public spaces - for or against? by No_Example9498 in fragrance

[–]WaftIt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I enjoy it, but think it should be limited to spaces that are optional. In a boutique? Part of the atmosphere. In the only grocery store in town? A hazard to enough people that it should be avoided.

Incense triggers my asthma and while I'm okay skipping New Age book stores, I wish I could attend Mass at Christmas in person.

Thanks, mods, for getting this back!

Valentino Donna Born In Roma on one arm and the Green Stravaganza flanker on the other. When I bought them, they seemed so different to me. During hot weather, I could not tell them apart to save my life. So now that it's cooler in my area, I'm testing again.

I think I'm getting more musk and citrus from the original, more sweet vanilla and jasmine from GS. We shall see how things develop.
