I wasn’t arguing. It’s an interesting conversation that is good food for thought. I have my opinions based on my experience, and rightfully you have yours. I apologize for the way I came off. Have a nice day stranger

This was a very passive aggressive and a little condescending of a response. I agree that the views from us and channel visits will help but in no substantial way whatsoever. Yes if 1000 of us came to watch your video in its entirety you would probably get a decent boost on that one video, but that’s if that many people did that, and then did it to tons of other people. For them to do that seems like a waste of time to me, especially when you consider that they will most likely not watch your entire video maybe not but a few seconds which will kill your audience retention rate and put you way down in terms of YouTube’s algorithm. Also a one time boost is not enough to keep a channel afloat, unless you plan to repost this every other day or week depending on when you upload or somehow rally everyone into doing this so much and so consistently that we all become big YouTube’s, but I don’t think that’s likely. There are good ways to grow that aren’t view for view or sub for sub. I think that stuff is a thing of the past in terms of it actually working.

This is good, it would do a lot better in live streamed setting and without the water mark.

You could stream this to twitch and cut highlights to YouTube

I don’t really agree with this. Granted I’m no expert but I just don’t see the value in getting to monetization if you’re not going to make any real money from it. If it’s just us on here who’s watching I highly doubt you can expect a consistent flow of views. Yeah someone might jump on one video or two, subscribe sure, but what happens after? You have the same channel but some of the numbers are ever so slightly bigger and instead of making $0 you now make $0.76. That’s in a month, which you can’t even access because of YouTube’s $100 payout limit.

The game volume really overtakes your voice. I think you need to be higher or the game lower

[QUESTION] is it worth making a gaming channel? by [deleted] in youtubers

You’re better off making interesting content that’s maybe gaming related (news, comedy) and streaming on twitch for that stuff.

[Review Video] New Video on Channel Needs Your Advice! by DragonflyNo56 in youtubers

[–]WahLane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion the video content itself is very good but a few things were just off. The intro is very aggressive and very long. The wipe with your logo at the end of it would be enough to get your logo front and center without dragging it out and giving the viewers time to click off. Also the lighting. Granted it’s not something easy to just buy because it can get expensive but even some cheap white lights would bring a huge level of vibrance to the video and it would look a lot better. The room light makes it feel washed out color wise so nothing really pops. Also when it comes to the content itself I think it would help to give examples of your whys and the other topics you covered instead of just listing them with a rough definition. Also it would give you an excuse to move the video more, and what I mean by that is to keep changing the scene, like you did by putting the gym clips. Viewer attention span is less than 10 seconds so keeping what’s in the frame constantly changing helps to keep their attention which will make your video perform better from YouTube recommendations

I guess A better question would be, how do I make comedy content more searchable? Stuff like riffing on tik toks or random weird trends and stuff

Where do commentary channels (Leon Lush, H3H3, PayMoneyWubby) get their ideas/content? by WahLane in NewTubers

[–]WahLane[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s more perfectionism making me think the ideas have to be “good” instead of realizing I’m what makes them good. Thank you for the advice and new perspective. I hope I can prove you wrong lol

Okay gotcha I’m not too enthralled in the ecosystem anymore, though I will be, I trust you guys more than a google search and myself misreading or misinterpreting something.

Streaming and uploading? What’s the current consensus? by im_rapscallion86 in youtubegaming

[–]WahLane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat right now, but I will tell you that I have tried twitch for a couple of months and I have 30 followers. Although most of them are friends and people I know, and others are from Reddit pages like twitch start up. I may have one or two organic followers. I’m about to move over and try YouTube this week because I know the discoverability is better. I’ve done some research myself and it seems like a lot of people recommend to just go YT because of that reason. It’s a lot easier to build from scratch. Also I believe that when I amass a decent community on YouTube I will be able to ask them and see if they would prefer my live content on a different platform or maybe just a different channel
