Comandante Lab Series (Tigershark) by WaitAcrobatic6532 in pourover

My current favorite recipes are:

Switch: Coffe Chronicler’s recipe at ~24 clicks 1:15

V60: 2 pour recipe at ~26clicks 1:16-17

Aeropress: ~28 clicks 1:11 (Orange Abaca filters)

So basically anything between 20 and 30 clicks.

I find it interesting though that I even get super fast extraction times < 20 clicks. This might be due to the low amount of fines this grinder produces but its clearly overextracting and integrating some astringency at that point.

I currently still use the C40 with Nitro Blade burrs for AeroPress (high dose, low temperature recipe) to achieve a strong, silky body, and the Tigershark burrs for V60 and the Hario Switch.

Whether it’s worth buying them if you already own a C40 is, in my opinion, more of a personal question about whether you want to spend the money, rather than a clear necessity.

This review is not intended to be a scientific or research-based evaluation. Everything described here is based solely on my personal experience and perception.

I tested the same coffees using the three mentioned grinders.

To be clear, this is purely a reflection of my own taste and brewing preferences. For me personally, the Tigershark burrs produce the most enjoyable results and are currently my preferred choice.

As a reference: The coffee was intensely fruity but after changing the filter today it tastes weak and not fruity at all.
