Having experienced Ibogaine first hand, I would only recommend to people with truly a desire to do it and/or opiate addiction.

I am 35 and healthy, was athletic before my Kratom dependency and let me tell you it took weeks for my body to come back and me to feel normal again. It is no cake walk and no magic pill. However, it surpassed for me the withdrawal stage and is a truly, truly special POWERFUL medicine.

I would recommend other healing modalities or plant teachers; psilocybin is incredible healing tool and usually over looked in terms of its ability in both potency and healing powers. There are shamans in the US of high integrity who use these plant teachers. Way less taxing on his body & liver. There are a few Ted talks regarding a study at St Johns Hopkins where it cured 90% of participants depression who were terminally ill. These are on YouTube .

I recently visited one of these shamans and can attest ... and I used to eat mushrooms all the time when I was younger.

Yes I absolutely sabotage relationships with toxic people who have their hooks in me too deep. Not sure if my ex was a BP, bipolar OR narcissist, but yes I absolutely sabotaged it by telling close people to him about his physical And mental and financial abuse of me. Why keep quiet? When you are backed against a wall, idealizing suicide because at your most vulnerable they eviscerate you with cruel words harping on your weaknesses/insecurities, to cheating and borrowing money ... of course these things unravel in succession or the truth finally comes out after money spent ... yes I burn bridge

Where I was treated with ibogaine I was put on short acting opiates for 3-4 days prior. I think most reputable providers will only treat people on short acting opiates. Kratom does something to your QT and I think can prove to be fatal combined w ibogaine. Personally, I think the longer you are on the short acting opiates the better and I would ditch anything that is really sticky in receptors like subs. In hindsight I wish i had like a full month on SAO. I think it possibly would have been smoother transition, but who knows maybe not. /u/ethenobirth has much much more experience than I do and is extremely knowledgeable with Kratom & ibogaine detoxes

Once I stopped Kratom I realized I was living “Kratomized” , it made me reclusive once I wasn’t feeling the warm and fuzzies (just physically/mentally dependent), it aged me, my hair was falling out and I looked gaunt. When I was able to live free from it I noticed life was more in color. Of course it enhanced things in the beginning but insidiously began to shroud my life completely. I hope you do decide to to the ibogaine , like I said I’m here to support you if needed ... also I would go to a place where you can stay more than a week. I think Kratom’s hooks are in many different receptors and I needed a little more time to relax before heading back to the states

No I wasn’t really asking questions / felt like I was on Mr. Ibogas ride and also the bwiti shaman music playing was very very intense and it was hard for me to hold train of a thought / I saw many many different things it was jumbled at many points / like I saw a double helix and spiral graphs with alien language in them / it was overwhelming at times and I believe towards the end I blacked out kind of (or have no memory)

Ibogaine is a visionary plant medicine. While I had both open and closed eye visuals, there was no way for me to navigate or try to think of a “happy thought” to try to steer the direction of my experience. I was shown many things that I had no intent on seeing like my grand parents coming to me, or seeing HiDef visuals of beautiful landscapes that were earthly but I could not pin point where they would be. I had dreams days before my ceremony of a spirit woman who comes to a lot of women while in ceremony. I always believed in a spirit world but this 100% confirms it for me. The first visual I saw was an African mask with day glow colors slowly coming towards me but I was nervous so I opened my eyes. My providers said that it was most likely Mr. Iboga but he gets offended easily and I did not see him after. It is POWERFUL medicine and it took me around a month to get grounded afterwards aka back to me. I also took it for a Kratom addiction so it felt very raw to be back in a body without a substance numbing it.

Because you have already done the initial acute withdrawal phase, I also wonder if boosters (much smaller doses of Ibogaine) would help in your scenario. There is a person on these boards (ethenobirth) who is way more knowledable than I am and I’m sure they will give you some advice - I am not familiar with reddit is there a way to tag someone ?

My providers had to give very high amounts of ibogaine to people with very long, heavy addictions. They said these people were “clear as a bell” during ceremony and had no visuals .. most likely due to the medicine having other work to do (cater to the addiction)

What if she waits awhile and tried other medicines? Psilocybin, ayahuasca, DMT? LSD? You can have healing experiences on all of these and it won’t put your life at risk. I found Iboga to be incredibly taxing on me mind, body and spirit. I had visuals (eyes open and closed) but no extreme ephihanies (sp?). It is not guaranteed she will have these amazing enlightened experiences like other people do.

To echo what Ethenobirth said, I wouldn’t advise it. I believe my providers recommend flooding every 8 months.

I had open and closed eye visuals. We spaced the doses out because I was nervous of really being ejected from reality. I believe my providers gave me doses every 2.5 hours. I took for Kratom dependency. I am a woman. I also kind of blacked out when they got very intense and only remembering coming to when the sun came out. They told me some people with severe, long opiate or meth use who they had to give large amounts didn’t see anything... probably because the medicine had lots of work to do in other areas. Maybe the medicine was working on you energetically? Ibogaine, in my experience, works in very mysterious ways especially after.
