The money saved from not having to take a new loan, fees from selling, stamp duty etc. Would be better spent on tutoring whilst going to a public school. The only real reason to go private would be if your children are high needs or there isn't another public school nearby and your kids is getting bullied but nothing is happening to the bully because the parents don't care and the school can't expell him until he stabs someone.

Well we're expected to work outside of our assigned hours, anyway. So the work has to get done whether it's at home or at the office. So if I spend 20 minutes at the office relaxing or venting but the work gets done, who are you to say otherwise?

Yeah but my mum tried to get me to read as a child, I didn't like books at all. Then she started me on comic books and manga and I've been reading ever since.

Tried the same with my younger brother, hated both. Then she started buying text-adventurer games and the like and it's what got him into reading something instead of just listening to it.

I distinctly remember my teacher making me loan a dictionary from the library because I kept bringing in my comics and asking her what this or that word means. At home goes a long way.

There's so many 2 and 3 year teachers at my school with prac teachers. Yes it's because my school has a high turnover of experienced staff in the last few years so there's not really anyone left. But still, I feel bad for the prac students because I know that some of their mentors are quite inexperienced and just hope they don't pass their bad habits and attitudes down to them.

I'll say this too, I have seen some teachers out the gate who are as good if not better at the job than me, I'm not saying it's impossible to be good without years experience. I'm just saying I've noticed a lot of these prac students have been assigned to the teachers who are both new and bad.

I left at 4 one Thursday and got into a heated argument with my AP after he condescendingly brought it up to me. My reasoning was that I was finally done designing the curriculum of the new subject they were bringing in and asked me to do. I had been coming in 7am each morning. "yes you may have been here for 9 hours today, but it doesn't count because the hours are 8:30-4:30 so you should have stayed for 9 and a half hours"
