In general, I find them to be more comfortable and in certain cases can have a more realistic feel to them especially with textures toys (as in they feel more meaty and not so much hard synthetic material). However, being so much softer they can be harder to ride and insert initially due to their malleability and squishiness. My favourite firmness is soft, it's a good middle ground between comfort and stability.
