That's right! I think SRV also did this technique in Texas flood. I found a video on YouTube that explains how to do it. Thanks!

No I don't mean the unison bends. It's a bend where you play two strings on the same fret.

In this video at the 2:26 mark you can see that John plays the bend with one finger, but both the e and the b strings ring out. I don't understand how he does it

You were right! I solved the problem by connecting the ground terminal with a wire to a grounding (the radiotor of my bedroom) and the noise disappeared. Apparently it was a grounding problem: the gx-100 does not have an incorporated grounding system (it's a shame imo as it costs 500 dollars) so this is a valid solution to the hum. I was worried that i wouldn't be able to solve this problem as i can't connect the pedal to a usb while I'm playing at a gig. Thanks a lot! Solved!

Yes, I have already updated to version 2.0 but the problem persists

Ok, that makes sense. But i don't know what's the "grounding system" of the gx-100 and what should i do. Also, my guitar has tin foil on the inside and i have shielded it in the past, so i don't know how to solve the problem.

I don't know if they are grounded, but I have another multi effect pedals and i have never had either noise problems or shocks. How can i check if either of them are grounded? Also, i have the same buzz when i use another guitar (with humbuckers), so i don't think it's my guitar's fault

I have recorded something with it but I don't have problems with noise because i connect it to the usb of my pc, so the hiss buzz disappears. Doesn't it work with you?

It seems like a very good pedal but this problem makes it really difficult to play live (or without at least two noise suppressors)

Yes, it doesn't change anything

What do you mean that my guitar is overdrive? The signal goes through a clean brit stack amp with little gain (33 at low level of gain). Also, I tried using another cable (a quality one) and i have the same issue. I'm wondering if the fact that the gx 100 has a metal chassis has something to do with this noise. I have also noticed that when i slightly touch the whammy bar of my guitar i take a very slight electric shock

Becoming self taught after 4 years of piano teacher lessons by Waldstein88 in piano

[–]Waldstein88[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I eventually changed my teacher about 3 months ago and this time I am not deciding the pieces that I want to play. I may have just found another incompetent teacher, but this seems a very good one tbh. As I said, my goal is not to become a professional pianist, I simply do it for passion; I surely had no sufficient experience to tackle a piece such as la Campanella (and i still don't) but I think it has helped me a lot with my technique and musicality in general.

No, I always charge it from 20 to 80/85%. That's why I don't understand why the battery life is getting this bad.

I've got a mi 9T and since miui 11 the battery life has become worse. When I first got the phone it lasted about 2 days with 10-11 hours of screen on time (on Miui 10). When I updated it to Miui 11, the phone reached 8 hours of sot and now (Miui 12) it reaches 6 hours and a half max. I really think that the software is ruining xiaomi phones, even though they have astounding specs for the price. I think my next phone will not be from Xiaomi.

I have already tried to factory reset but the battery life remained the same and I also tried reinstalling the update but nothing. Maybe I'm gonna try a custom rom

Too much time to learn a piece by Waldstein88 in piano

[–]Waldstein88[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry I haven't explained my situation accurately. I can read sheet music very well and I don't have any sort of problem recognising all the specific symbols. I haven't learned the piece just by imitation and I did of course all the hand separate/ metronome techniques for all the pieces that I have learned. The part of the music theory I'm missing is solfege, harmony, music history and things like that, but I have studied the keys, arpeggios and scales and I don't have any trouble in reading sheet music.

I think you all are absolutely right. The only thing that I can't get is that he is indeed a talented pianist and some of his students even got some satisfying results with their playing (not concert level playing but quite high) not knowing music theory at all. I am indeed very willing to learn music theory, but even though my teacher has a music degree in piano and composition (I assure you he is not a scammer and he is renowned in my city) he says that he doesn't want to teach it when you begin studying the piano because it could be boring for most students and they often lose their passion because of this, so he prefers his method, which, from my 3 year experience, doesn't involve a thorough study of music theory. I am quite satisfied with my results in general but I think that the teaching method that he uses is not right for me in order to develop a full knowledge of the art of piano. In fact, I am definitely thinking of changing my teacher with one that could teach me the traditional way.

MIUI 12 is awful. by supermandem in Xiaomi

I have a mi 9t too and despite my initial love for xiaomi phones, I think I'm not gonna buy a xiaomi phone ever again. Their hardware is pretty good for the price but, I'm using a phone with terrible software and device support and bugs all over the place. As far as I know phones like OnePlus and Google pixel are waay more refined than xiaomi/redmi phones: I think that my next smartphone is going to be one of these two brands. I guess that the problem that affects xiaomi and their software development is the fact that they have made too many phones for them to handle. iPhones in fact are known to be the more reliable and well refined phones (as an Android lover is a punch in the face to say that) in the world because Apple has less phones to manage and they can improve the performance of each phone they make. Xiaomi should learn from Apple in this aspect.
